SILENCE IS NOT NECESSARILY GOLDEN!

Such fun - a denim skirt became a pretty apron

Well, it seems things went a bit silent since my last post. Apologies. I have been driving all over Alberta doing Janome Horizon Test Drives at a number of my Janome dealers & then worked at the Sewing Show in Calgary last weekend.

I will be at the Sewing Show in Edmonton this weekend so do pop by the booth and say hi if you are in the area. We are doing great luggage tag projects during the Horizon Test Drives in the Janome booth (Johnsons Sewing Center). This is your opportunity to sit at the machine & try it out. Come & book a spot early to avoid disappointment.

There will also be an exciting new addition to the show: there is a Swop-a-rama booth (Janome & Johnsons Sewing are sponsoring) where you can bring “old” clothing or other items to recycle& make these into something entirely new. We had a number of folk stop by this booth in Calgary and one lucky lady won a Janome QDC 4030 for her efforts!! WHAT ABOUT TRYING YOUR HAND AT WINNING A MACHINE IN EDMONTON???? There is another Janome QDC 4030 up for grabs to the most appealing & clever use of the clothing, buttons, bits & bobs we have + what you bring along.

Thnak you to all the booth vendors who donated bits & bobs for this: buttons, lace, zippers, thread etc.

Here are some pics of items made in Calgary:

Alice made this wine bottle vest from t-shirt & hoodie fabric. Cheryl & Carol also made the same vests - they had all attended Cindy's class at the show & were all inspired.

Another clever entry: child's dress made from 2 T- shirts, belt & head band from the sleeve of a hoodie plus flowers cut from fabrics.

OUR WINNER: KELLY made a charming and beautifully constructed bag from men's shirts & pants - cut apart + a man's tie for the strap. WELL DONE - ENJOY YOUR JANOME QDC 4030.
