FRESH Faces at the Creativ Show
We wanted to share a few images from the show floor:
Linda Sparks‘ corsetry always gets attention and fills classes. Her booth is packed with inspiration and her classes (in the Janome 3160 classroom) were filled with enthusiastic students. Linda’s book, The Basics of Corset Building (or here) is the go-to resource on this timeless technique.
First Creativ Show – Perfect for new Sewists:
Happy Sew Lucky brought their debut products to the show, ready to inspire with easy-to-do sewing projects. Animals, ornaments and banners added unique character to their booth, in bright colors and bold graphics. Creator Berene Campbell’s (l) enthusiasm is contagious.
Quilting goes mod:
Brights, funky florals and graphic solids make for simple, contemporary quilts.
Mad about Patchwork’s tagline is “simple – fresh – fun” and their booth inspired with that message.
The Creativ was filled with familiar and new faces, showing us that sewing and quilting continue to be a passion from one generation to the next. How many people did we get to visit with that have been coming for years? There were solo shoppers on a mission, others with babes in arms that could not miss the show and countless couples of friends and mother-daughter duos. The variety of offerings from merchandise to shows to classes had the proverbial “something (many somethings?) for everyone.”
Do you have a ‘must see’ show in your area? What kinds of things do you love most about the show?
