SEWING UP A STORM ON THE HORIZON MC12000!!!

I need to sew up as many samples as I possibly can before the big , official launch of the Horizon MC12000 on 1st October. So I thought I would share with you my very first project completed yesterday! It is a table setting: placemat, fringed napkin and nakpin ring.

Liz's first Horizon MC12000 project

The placemat was embroidered in the big GR hoop – it is one of the built-in border designs for the GR hoop.  I then took this design into the Janome Digitizer software and edited it: basically “sliced & diced” it until I ended up with just a few of the “swiggles” which I then embroidered onto the napkin rings to complement the placemat.

I made the napkin exclusively in the sewing mode of the machine: the linen fabric lent itself to a fringed outside edge. Just inside the fringing, I stitched one of the new 9mm wide decorative stitches and also used a wing needle to simulate some heirloom drawn threadwork – using a stitch from the heirloom section of sewing mode stitches.

WHAT ARE 2 OF MY MOST FAVOURITE FEATURES ON THIS WONDERFUL NEW MACHINE? There are SO many features it is really hard to know where to start but here are 2 to set the ball rolling……..

  1. 9mm wide decorative stitches. Many who know me will know that I consider I am a bit of a decorative stitch queen so I was super-pleased to have 9mm wide stitches.
  2. The embroidery machine can be set to stitch at 1000 stitches per minute and yet still be so quiet and smooth. I have absolutely no idea how the Janome engineers and R &D team got this right BUT  they did and it is great!

There is so much more I could say…….. I would like to suggest that you contact your local Janome dealer as soon as possible to find out what they have planned from 1st October for the launch of this machine. I will be visiting some of my dealers during the month of October to conduct Horizon MC12000 Launch parties.  Many dealers also have their own parties arranged so BE SURE YOU DO NOT MISS OUT on the opportunity to hear about and see the new machine with your own eyes!
