By now you may have heard Pantone’s announcement of the 2013 Color of the Year: Emerald. So what do you think? Are you ready to be wrapped in lush green tones of bath towels and blankets? Will this affect your color choices for what you sew on your Janome?

Thinking back on 2012’s Tangerine Tango, how did that color of the year affect your sewing stash and projects? How about around the house or in your wardrobe closet? COTY 2012

Looking at the past few years of color trends, how would you say that they effected your sewing projects? Trending colors definitely dictate some of what is available at our local quilt shop – but shop owners know their customers. While they bring in the latest and greatest, they also know to keep an eye our for customer favourites.  Sticking with the mantra of sewing what we love, will this be your year to stock your stash?

It will be interesting to see how designers use this hue. While Pantone will have their official designation of what emerald is, wide-ranging products will offer up all sorts of variations. Maybe there is a just right emerald for you, but more importantly, we hope that you have found your own best friend in color, because when you are sewing through miles of your favourite colored thread and fabrics, the hours fly by.
