The BC Home Show has just taken place in Vancouver this past week. I “hot-footed” it down to BC Place after work on Friday to see how things were going in the LOVE SEWING booth. Sabine, one of our (close to downtown Vancouver ) Janome dealers, was present to assist customers and sell JANOME sewing machines.
Denise Wild of The Sewing Studio in Toronto and Love Sewing magazine was invited to do presentations about sewing Home Dec projects on the Main stage. Quite an honour for her and, I’m told, was well received. Unfortunately I was only at the show for an hour or 2 so I was not able to see Denise live on stage.
However, I did see her very much alive on her booth! Or shall we say in the classroom? sewing studio? The booth was quite lovely: JANOME 625E machines (see ALL MACHINES UNDER PRODUCTS TAB) were set up for folk to sit and sew charming little projects with fabrics sponsored by Camelot fabrics. I have also included pics of projects that enthusiastic sewers were making (below). The booth was a hive of sewing activity and as a seat was vacated, another person already waiting for a spot , sat down and started a little make -&- take project. Some folk had never sewed on a sewing machine before, some were Beginner sewers, some were experienced sewers…….no matter – it was all about the love of sewing!
Denise has Sewing Studio’s in Toronto and Manhattan. Find more info at http://www.lovesewing.com/magazine/
