SPOTLIGHT ON JANOME CUSTOMER ……….just look what ONE person can do to brighten the lives of other people!

Marilyn Rybotycki is one of our loyal JANOME customers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She recently shared with me that she has completed no less than 52 bags to give to her local St Patrick Parish to be put into the Christmas 2013 hampers ……..   Now, I don’t know about you, but I was blown away by this! Especially as Marilyn was just been quietly getting on with all this charitable sewing on her own……. I knew nothing about it until recently.

Marilyn had read about our blog Charity Sewing challenge on the elnalife blog earlier this year and had decided she wanted to make a difference in some folk’s lives this Christmas. I think this is simply wonderful. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, MARILYN.

Marilyn has a JANOME MC 6500P and a JANOME 300E. All the sewing & embroidery on these bags was done on these JANOME machines.  Here is the link to her blog

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE MADE MORE THAN 52 BAGS FOR THIS BLOG CHALLENGE? Either for the elnalife or janomelife blogs? As far as I am aware, Marilyn has individually made the most at 52 bags…….but let me know if I am incorrect about this???? Remember that there is to be a prize for the person who makes the most bags  – SO speak now or Marilyn will get the prize!!!

I do have some dealer stores around Western Canada who have done REALLY well with their sewing for this project. Their staff & customers have been sewing up a storm for many months. Some stores have a combined total of well over 30-40 bags but the one JANOME OR ELNA STORE so far that is trumping this BLOG BAG CHALLENGE  is SNIP AND STITCH SEWING CENTER in Nanaimo, BC who are currently sitting at around 90 bags but are hoping to have between 120 & 150 by 15 Dec!!! We will most definitely have a recognition of all the ladies who participated in sewing for Snip and Stitch’s contribution to this project at our JANOME DAYS to be held at SNIP AND STITCH   on 31st January & 1st February 2104. You would be wise to book your seat now for the sewing fun at Janome Days! Call Snip and Stitch today.

SO, a huge big thank you to Marilyn for her amazing individual effort; to Snip & Stitch for their incredible combined effort; and to the many JANOME & ELNA customers at the following stores who have participated so wonderfully in this project:

Snip and Stitch Sewing Center, Nanaimo, BC

Haus of Stitches, Humboldt, Saskatchewan

Findlay’s Superstore, Vernon, BC

The Quilted Bear, Ladner, BC

Langley Vacuum & Sewing, Langley, BC

Sawyers Sewing Center, Victoria, BCwho were the inspiration behind this Blog Challenge. Sawyer’s Sewing Center and Judy have been doing this for Sandy Merriman House in Victoria for many years.

If there are any other JANOME OR ELNA  stores that have participated in this Blog Challenge Charity sewing project, please contact me ASAP so that I may add your store’s name to this list and get further information from you for featuring on future blog posts…………….yes, stay tuned in the coming weeks for more pics and info about which charities received the bags in time for Christmas.
