For the last couple of years, one of our Janome dealers, LANGLEY VACUUM & SEWING in Langley, BC has offered 1/2 meter of Christmas print fabric to customers who were up for a challenge: they were to use up as much of the fabric as possible in ANY project of their choosing. They may add other fabrics & embellishments. These projects are then displayed in the store over the Christmas holiday period and anyone coming into the store is encouraged to vote for their favourite project. Here are some pics of the Christmas Challenge display in the store:
At a recent JANOME event at the store, I was able enjoy a lovely show & tell of these Christmas Challenge projects as well as other sewing the ladies have been up to. Here is a bunch of pics of the lovely work this busy bunch of sewing ladies have been making recently:

Show & Tell from Irene: she has been busy again with her Artistic Sewing Suite software with crystals – isn’t her T-shirt just lovely?! And she is holding some cute tree ornaments in her hand as well.

Bridget also made this little pinafore dress with blouse for the Christmas challenge -she used the challenge fabric for the blouse and appliques on the skirt of the dress. Very clever!

You might remember the quilts I made using these same Geisha print panels? Search Geisha quilts in the search box of this blog to find where I featured them. Now this caught my eye as it is a completely different way to work with the printed panel. She used various fabrics as APPLIQUE over top the panel. It was really beautifully done. I thought of painting one of my panels but did not think of doing this at all. Well done for originality & applique technique as well as what a lovely quilting job!
Stephe, who works at Langley Vacuum & Sewing delivered the toiletry filled bags to Ishtar House in Langley last week. We have some pics of the handover. Susan Knight is the Executive Admin Assitant at Ishtar House and she was super pleased to receive them for their women folk this Christmas.
