Now the release of Digitizer MBX V4.5 gives you even more ways to express your creativity. Look at some of the major new features.

Freehand Drawing You are going to love this new option. Using a pen and tablet (such as the popular WACOM® tablets), the new drawing tools let you to digitize shapes and lines as easily as drawing with pencil and paper with amazing results.

Kingsize Layouts & New Editing Tools In addition to the larger layout size, you get a greater selection of monogram patterns. Integrated Corel Draw Essentials provides vector art to click-and-convert to embroidery. Cross Stitch is now standard.

NEW Cutwork Add-Ons Set includes Software, Needles, and Needle Holder. EasyDesign allows you to digitize cutwork in much the same way as you digitize appliqué objects. Select the type of embroidery you wish to use and the type of cutwork you want, and the software takes care of the rest.  This is a SEPARATE software module which is available as an add-on for both V4.0 and V4.5.

      The Part #’s in Canada & US are the same. The part # for upgrade from version 3 to MBX version 4.5 is #254753400. Your local Janome Dealer is the one to ask for price and ordering.

  3. Can you tell me where the cross stitch is located in MBX 4.5 is it just a freehand tool fill stitch and not the whole software? I am confused it said cross stitch included, I purchased upgraded and went from Digitizer MD V 3.0 to MBX v4.5. Do not see anything but a cross stitch fill.

      Hi,
      I am on the road today but yes, it is definitely included with MBX v4.5. I am almost 100% sure it is accessed in the FILE tab on the top tool bar. Click that & Crosstitch should be one of the options on the drop down menu.
      It is not with the icons on the side of the MBX screen.
      Either let me know you found it or I will confirm this evening when I have had a chance to open up the software to double check.
      And yes, you do have cross stitch fill with the freehand tool but you also do have the whole cross stitch package too in this version of the software.
      You don’t say where you purchased the upgrade to your software: your Janome dealer should be able to answer his question as well for you.

    Hi there, I have Janome MBX 4.5 software and recently upgraded to windows 8.1
    The easy edit and easy design have been working just fine until I upgraded and now it wont work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, without success. I cant use my software program. I am gutted. I have also a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 laptop with windows 8.1 and it will not load on that either. Are there patches or upgrades to the software I can use.

      Yes, there is. It would be version 4 or 4.5. I don not believe we have stock of this in Canada though if you live elsewhere you may certainly ask your local Janome dealer.

    I just purchased and installed the MBX 4.5 on windows 8 however I am not able to connect to the embroider machine with the USB cable. Please help. I would like to be able to use it without transferring designs to a memory stick. thanks…

    I have upgraded my MBX to 4.5 successfully so it said, the only problem I am having is I can rotate my designs but I can’t move the design to another position. I select it, unable to get the arrows to drag and drop in Easy Design. This also happens in Easy Edit as well, it only lets me nudge the design. What am I doing wrong? I had both of these functions in Easy Design before the upgrade.

      I see you are in Australia so I am not going to refer you to our Software helpline for North America. Your first place to go for help is your local Janome dealer who sold you the software. They should be able to support you. Or you could contact Janome Australia for assistance. Their contact details are found on the global Janome website under Australia (Select a country).       Yes you can. The part # to ask for at your local Janome dealer is Part#254753400. This is one upgrade from version 2 to 4.5. No need to do it in steps. OK? Your dealer will provide you with retail pricing and software learning support etc.

      Hi Terry,
      I have no idea what the issues are that you are having with MBX. Did you contact the Software Helpline 1-800-631-0183 Ext 775? I realize you have sent an email. There is sometimes a bit of a delay in getting a reply as it is a very busy helpline which looks after the whole of North America. Please be patient. It is also almost Christmas which might cause further delays. But if you have not heard back by the New Year, contact me again with ALL the pertinent details & I will contact them on your behalf.
      It may be that upgrading to MBX v4.5 IS the way to go but without knowing all the details I would just be guessing, so my advice would be to wait until you have a reply from the helpline. It might be something real simple to correct. But provided you have all the correct things in place like computer requirements, correct installation etc, MBX version 4 should work.
      You won’t find the version 4.5 upgrade on the website. It is a purchasable upgrade, not a free update to download. You would need to order the v4.5 upgrade from your dealer.
      If I remember correctly, you purchased the Mc15000? Upgrading to MBX v4.5 may well be a good idea then but let’s be sure we have checked out what is causing the issue first. Make sense?

    Why is it that you promote something that is NOT AVAILABLE AT ANY OF THE DEALERS.

    I know you want to advertise your new products, but why don’t you wait until the dealers can get it. This products is on back order by dealers in several states, which means IT IS NOT “HERE”. AS YOU PUT IT.

    Now I am having second thoughts.

      This blog is written primarily as a marketing and educational tool for Janome Canada and their dealers & customers, although we know many Janome customers worldwide do find it very helpful.
      I see you reside in Texas. I am unable to comment on inventory levels in countries other than Canada. We do have these items currently in stock here in Canada. If you have concerns about inventory availability, please address these concerns to your Texas dealer or Janome America as the distribution in America is quite separate from Canada.

    I have the Digitizer MBX 4.0 software. I watched the CD with Trevor that came with the software – his EasyDesign page shows the MC15000. mine only shows up to MC12000. How do I have the MC15000 show up as a choice of machines?

      Hi Linda,

      I am surprized that you say the Mc15000 shows up on his Easy Design page?? The Mc15000 was not around when Trevor made the DVD that comes with MBX version 4. So I am puzzled by that.
      However, to answer you: the hoops for the Mc15000 are NOT on MBX version 4. Yes, only the Mc12000 hoops show up. However, there is an upgrade to the MBX software which became available very recently. This upgrade is from version 4 to version 4.5. Once installed, this upgrade will then show the Mc15000 in the software. I published a blog post about this very thing today 19th Dec. You may ask Toews to give you retail pricing on this and to order it for you.
      I did want to point out that (currently) the hoops for the Mc15000 are actually the same as the hoops for the Mc12000 so you can ust select the Mc12000 and applicable hoop while using your Mc15000. If later optional Mc15000 only hoops were to become available (? no clue just saying), then my answer might be a little different.
