FREE UPDATE FOR JANOME MC15000……DOWNLOAD TODAY!

ATTENTION ALL JANOME HORIZON MC15000 OWNERS!!!!!

A new update for the JANOME MC15000  has just become available for you.

888-15k-Update

This update is version 1.04 and contains the following:

  • Improvement of wireless connection stability
  • Modification of colour group function

The update is available for download from our GLOBAL JANOME website. Please go to this link and follow all the instructions closely for downloading and then subsequent uploading to your machine.

If you are not confident about doing this, you might like to seek the assistance of your local Janome dealer. Be sure to watch them do it so that you will see that the steps are not difficult and you should be able to do it by yourself next time!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • It is important to update BOTH the Mc15000 and HORIZON LINK SUITE on your computer.  Don’t panic about the version #’s being the same:  I have 1.01 on my Horizon Link Suite & 1.04 on the Mc15000. That’s OK.

  • This update is ONLY for MC15000. It is not applicable for Mc12000 or any other machine models.

Hi Liz: I have been totally frustrated for a week trying to get my new 15000 and the horizon link suite to work. Finally, I found your blog but I am confused. I downloaded the 1.04 version then it took me to the Janome page where it says there is a new 1.20 version so downloaded that. Which is the newest? The 1.2 still doesn’t have an accurate Acufil program. The instructions on the internet show a much more complete program than I am getting with the one in the suite. What would you suggest? My dealer is not helping at all. Also, I will try to see if I can link these now that I have the download. I love the things that work on the machine but really need this to do my quilting and the quilt tops are piling up as I wait to get this going. Thanks so much. Vicki

      Hi Vicki,
There are 2 separate updates that are possible for your machine: one is for the machine itself and the other is for your Horizon Link Suite software on your PC. The machine version shows on the screen when you switch it on – if your machine is brand new it should be version 2 which is the latest. Nothing to update there if so.
Horizon Link Suite version 1.2 needs to be downloaded AND opened. First, of course, you need to install the Horison Link Suite CD that comes with the machine. Then update to version 1.2 if necessary. Be sure you open the file you download or it might not actually update the software you installed. Check the version you have in the menu top left corner. If version 1.2 then you are good until a new version comes out.

There is a little blue ? In the top corner of all parts of Horizon Link (Acufil, embroidery link tool, etc) which will greatly assist you in learning this software. I am not able to do that in this forum. Your local Janome dealer who sold you the machine should be teaching you how to operate the machine as well as how to use Horizon Link Suite.

Good luck. I hope it all becomes a lot clearer to you as you learn your wonderful new machine. There is always a bit of a learning curve so allow yourself time to settle in & enjoy all it has to offer – which is a LOT and won’t be learned overnight.

Thanks for trying to help Liz. I did download and install both things but the horizon link suite still does not work. No one has answered my calls on the helpline–I have left messages for three days and the dealer is trying to get some help as well. Most of the Horizon Link Suite is not operating–as though I need to put in some code or something. This is a nightmare. I now how four quilt tops that need finishing and very limited time to do so. I really love the features of the machine and loved my 6600 but this whole experience with the company is making me really upset. It’s been a week of trying to get help. At least you answered me. Thanks again.

        Hi Vicki,

I am sorry you are having a frustrating time. Your best source of help is your local Janome America or Janome Canada dealer (not sure where you are) who should be fully trained & equipped to assist you. We do have the software helpline for North America 1-800-631-0183 Ext 775. They may take a little time to return your call as they do receive many thousands of calls per month. 3 days – 1 week is not unusual and it is important to give them a number (like a cell phone where you can be easily reached). They don’t have the time to keep trying to return calls.
But you can also ask your dealer to contact the Helpline directly and try to find an answer for you. Your dealer should be aware of this Helpline and the number. I advise my Western Canada customers to ask their local dealer to let me know when they have been waiting for a response for more than 5 business days. Right now it is peak holiday season and many folks, including myself, have been on vacation. So things may take a little longer.
If you are based in the US, you will need to go through your local Janome America dealer. I can only step in on behalf of my Canadian dealers & customers – sorry but there are protocols we follow.

Not sure if you have used Acufil before? If not, I would do some practice projects first before starting right into your waiting quilt tops. Acufil quilting is simply fabulous but there is naturally a learning curve which you would probably want under your belt before you wade into your precious quilts. If you have used Acufil with the Mc11000 or Mc12000, then it won’t be all that new to you.

Thank you for telling us about the upgrade. Evidently I did it correctly because I have 1.04 on the machine. I am,however still having issues with “communication between the laptop and the s.m.
I have purchased a wi fi extender in case that was the problem but when I use the on line Editor/monitor (with H.L) I get a message saying Connection Error. Check the wireless Lan settings. When I try and use the connect to machine icon it either says Communication Time Out or Connect the machine or USB flash drive to the PC. Make sure that the machine is turned on before connecting with the PC” Do you or one of your computer people know the answer or should I contact Janome?
    The ipad is communicating fine.
Sorry for being so long winded but this is frustrating.

      Hi Terry,

      1. I am having no difficulty connecting wirelessly from the iPad to the MC15000 – like you….so we are good on that.
      2. I have also had no difficulty connecting the Mc15000 to my PC using either the cable supplied with the machine or by using a USB stick (save the design on the stick, then open stick at the machine in either of the USB ports). So this gives you 2 more ways to get designs to & from the machine & computer – so we now have 3 ways so far.
      3. When in HLS and you wish to send a design to the machine, if you click on SEND in the top tab the message “Connect the machine or USB flash drive to the PC” comes up as you report. That is because this is not the icon for wireless transfer. If you are trying to do it wirelessly there, it won’t work…not meant to.
      4. To connect wirelessly between the Mc15000 & your PC (which is what is frustrating you), did you read the relevant part of the HLS manual? Click on the little blue question mark in top right hand corner of the HLS screen and select CONNECTION SETTINGS from the menu. You will see that you need to go to Connection settings and select Wireless Lan instead of USB. There is a good step-by-step explanation of what to do here to get a connection going as well as some trouble shooting tips. Check this out.
If you are still unable to get a wireless connection between the PC and the MC15000, then perhaps you should contact the software Helpline 1-800- 631-0183 Ext 775. This is the correct place to go for all software help – it is the Janome Software Helpline for North America.

      Good luck.

      Hi Terry,
One more thing. Please check that your PC is connected to the same network as your router. We have more than one network here at the office and when I initially tried to connect wirelessly my PC was using it’s usual network & not the one for my router. As soon as I changed this, hey presto, designs sent to machine happened like it should.
So just another thing for you to check.

Thanks Liz, appreciate you getting back to me.
I made sure that I was on the same network. Just kept playing and trying not to throw something out the window. I think that I have solved it by uninstalling Horizon Link then upgrading that. Haven’t had a chance to completely check it but what I did do worked.

Is there an update for Horizon Link Suite as well? I couldn’t find it, so haven’t been able to do that. The update for the machine went smoothly though.

      Hi Cheryl,
Apparently not. I contacted the Software Helpline and it seems that the version NUMBERS on the machine & Horizon Link are not necessarily the same. I have 1.01 on HLS and 1.04 on the machine & sending designs works so all is good!
