YOU ASKED FOR IT AND YOU GOT IT!!   There is a new hoop NOW available for the Janome MC15000. It is the Essential hoop RE18 with an embroidery field size of 5.5×7 inches. This is similar to (  a little larger than) the RE hoop available for Janome MC 11000 and will help you to conserve your stabilizer as you will need less stabilizer than you would for SQ23 hoopings.

This much anticipated embroidery hoop has finally arrived!! Essential Hoop will make your sewing and embroidery life more enjoyable and satisfying.

*Users with Version 1.01-1.04 will need to update their MC15000 and Horizon Link Suite as well to use this hoop. Please click the URL below and go to “Machine Updates”. http://www.janome.co.jp/e1.html

BTW: here’s a tip for conserving stabilizer and especially helpful when you are doing multiple embroideries …….like on the boudior pillow at the beginning of the post which had me embroidering 10 separate RE18 hoopings on the pillow cover: Hoop up the stabilizer only and spray with a little glue. Attach the hoop to the Janome Clothsetter and position the fabric on top of the sticky stabilizer so that the marking on fabric (marked using the  template printed in Horizon Link Suite) & red crosshair on the clothsetter line up. Now baste the fabric onto the hooped stabilizer using the awesome baste function on the Janome MC15000 (MC11000, Mc12000 & MC9900 also have it!) & embroider the design. After the embroidery is complete, carefully tear the fabric off the hooped stabilizer leaving the stabilizer in the hoop with a hole where the embroidery was. Now patch the hole with an off cut of left over stabilizer (I usually lightly spray with glue on the top side of the off cut & paste it on the hole from the back of the hoop – you don’t want glue under the hoop to stick to & mess up the bed of the machine).   Now repeat for the next embroidery, firstly basting again. If I am careful, I can usually get about 5-6 hoopings before I need to replace the entire hooping of stabilizer with a new sheet.

The hoop is available at your local JANOME dealer. The hoop comes with 4 magnets for extra stability AND a USB stick containing 50 lovely designs for you to use in your new hoop.  There are sections of animals; hairdo;  applique, variety; and quilting designs on the USB stick  with 50 new designs in total. Lots of fun…..lots of designs to add to your collection! Above & below are some pics of these designs to whet your appetite for this hoop!

One little word of advice: Please read the instructions for using the templates for the designs on the USB stick. I did not (now there is a big surprise!) and so I was puzzled  why the template I printed from the stick was smaller than the one I printed from Horizon Link Suite???….. You need to adjust the scaling on your printer settings to ensure the template prints at 100% = full size when printing directly from the USB stick template section. OR use Horizon Link suite to open the design from the USB stick & then print the template – probably easier but you choose. Just ensure you do have the template the correct size or you might be in for a surprise when the design stitches!

ALSO: some of these designs open at the MC15000  in the SQ14 hoop as they are sized smaller than the RE18 hoop. This is totally OK as the RE18 hoop is larger so there will not be a problem. However, if you wish to edit or customize the design(s), it might be wise to select the RE18 hoop on the edit screen of the JANOME MC15000 or in AcuEdit to ensure you get the sizing and position of design elements where you want them for the RE18 hoop. You can, of course, enlarge these designs by up to 20% or more in Janome Digitizer MBX so long as you have selected the correct hoop for your final stitch out. Lots of options…..lots of fun……………..you should see what I have been making with my ESSENTIAL HOOP RE18! Don’t miss our JANOME Show & Tell events & shows this Fall.

      Hi Barbara,

Don’t recall when the RE18 hoop came out (a few years ago I think) and it was in direct response to requests for a hoop similar to the 5×7 inches many people are used to using and continue to want. There are often many reasons why we do or don’t get everything we request but we sure can ask – It is Christmas time after all! But we do leave our requests with our very capable R&D Dept. Rest assured we do ask and will continue to ask for bigger hoops.

It IS here – was launched a few days ago. Please refer to the home page of our http://www.janome.ca website for more information as well as contact your local authorized Janome MC15000 dealer who has information to share with you. Some of our dealers in Canada already have this new MC15000 V2 in their stores for you to see.

Thanks Liz. It is the same hoop correct? I don’t mind waiting for the update file as long as I have the correct hoop.

I hope it is soon as I just bought the RE18 hoop. Advertising states it is compatible for the 15000 and the 12000 so I was caught off guard that the update file is not available for the 12000.

Do the hoops for janome 11 000 SE fit the janome 15000?

      Hi Cheryl,
No, they do not. The MC11000 has it’s own hoops and there IS an RE (rectangular) hoop for the MC11000. Please ask your local Janome dealer about this hoop. Is a most popular size hoop!

When are we getting that hoop for the 12000….we have been asking for that since the 12000 came out… It irritates the heck out if me that we spend lots of money on these machines and a short while later a newer model comes out and the previous one is ignored…not all 12000 owners were able to upgrade…

      Hi Laura,
Yes, we have all been waiting for it and are real happy it is now here. It WILL be available for the Mc12000 soon so Janome has most definitely not ignored Mc12000 owners. There will be a free update for both your machine and Horizon Link sometime this fall. We will announce on this blog when this update becomes available for Mc12000.

Hi Liz, will the new Essential RE18 also fit the MC12000? This hoop makes a whole lot of sense.
    Thanks,

      Hi Sharon,
Yes, it will. There will be an update for the MC12000 some time this fall to add the hoop to your machine, Horizon Link so that you can use it.
Something to note and order from your dealer. We will announce when the Free update is ready for download.
