Color + Whimsy
We first met Tamara Kate Serrao a while back via her Flight Patterns collection for Michael Miller Fabrics. Her light-hearted, fun and colorful collection was a perfect pair for some of our MC15000 embroidery samples. When we reached out to Tamara to let her know that we wanted to use her fabrics in a presentation, we learned that she lives in Montreal.
“Impressed” would only begin to describe how we felt upon seeing more of her design work. Have a look at her website or Spoonflower shop and we think that you will agree. Tamara’s unique collections bring a refreshing vision to fabrics for sewists of all kinds. You might be thinking ‘little boy’s quilt’ when you see her Les Monsieurs collection, but what about bow ties? {as seen on Tamara’s eye-popping Pinterest board}
Michael Miller has recently released Tamara’s newest collection: Oragami Oasis {check out the graphically cool black & white color story.} We are extra-excited to share that some of her samples for this collection have been made on the Janome MC8200. Tamara recently introduced her newest studio edition with her blog post: Sewing With Janome.
You can see more of Tamara’s work and learn how to make a nifty lined tote in her guest post at Making It Fun.
Discover even more eye-candy on her Flickr page. From fabric to household goods – we know that we will see more from this talented designer.
Such a talented and whimsical designer. I look forward to indulging in some of her fabrics!

Hi Diana,
This post IS written in English. Did you perhaps view our French blog vie janome? Canada is a bilingual country so we do offer janome blogs in both official languages. You can translate our French version into English using your computer translation software ( mine automatically uses Bing) or you are most welcome to visit our English blog janomelife.
