Once again, I was recently blown away by the talent & creativity of staff & customers at Snip & Stitch Sewing Centre in Nanaimo BC. We have a real fun Show & Tell time before our classes. To start off, we feature some of the incredible work Donna Morton (who works at Snip & Stitch and who we featured on 13th Feb with her lovely Valentine’s Heart mats). We will do another post showing other lovely things made by Snip & Stitch customers in the coming weeks. Donna will be in the Janome booth at the Victoria Show…..so if you’d like to meet her & find out more about using your embroidery machine to do your quilting + see the NEW Artistic Edge 15 Digital cutter in action…..come on over…..we will have ongoing demo’s and creative fun to watch!

It is really hard to know where to start……there were SO many gorgeous projects at Show & Tell. This one was made by Donna Morton for Kathy, the owner of Snip & Stitch, as a Christmas gift.

This is a close up of the same quilt showing the ACUFIL quilting that Donna did on the Janome MC15000.

This is the back of the same quilt……man alive I am SO taken with using our embroidery machine to do our quilting…..it is simply the best option.

Donna holding up another of her close to completed creations…..also quilted using the ASQ22 Acufil hoop on the JANOME MC15000
Donna also introduced the 2015 Hoopsisters Block of the month: Sewn Seeds. I was severely disappointed last year that I could not do Jacobean Journey (the 2014 Embroidablock of the month) due to time constraints…..I’d love to be able to do all the incredible projects I see on my travels, but sadly there are only 24 hours in a day. (I am waiting for when they give us more hours in a day!!) That was a tough decision as I so badly wanted to do it. This year is a similar tough decision for me…..Sewn Seeds is simply stunning. Take a look at the smaller projects Donna has put together using various Sewn Seeds blocks.
If you are interested in participating in this year’s Hoopsisters Embroidablock, you may contact Snip and Stitch, Nanaimo, BC or check out the Hoopsisters website for a participating dealer near you.

I’m not a quilter but I can see many uses for these embroidered blocks from HoopSisters. Alberta and Saskatchewan is WAY to far to go…..or I could visit my friend in Saskatoon. Tempting!

Hi Sandra,
Your email seems to indicate you are in Ontario? I am quite surprised to see how few Hoopsisters dealers there are in Ontario. Perhaps you could suggest to your favourite local dealer that they might consider introducing Hoopsisters? Worth a try, don’t you think?
