PROJECT IDEAS TO INSPIRE…….COURTESY OF JANOME EDUCATORS

I was so tired of struggling with 50lb suitcases on & off airport busses & at airports that I made a deliberate decision to travel extra light on my recent trip to Japan. It was a first for me as I did not even check luggage! I took a roll along onto the plane and walked right off the other end and onto a train. Whew….had no idea it could be this easy!  However, the disadvantage was that I had very little to share with the Janome educators from the other countries who attended our Educator Conference. But I did get to see the lovely samples they brought with them to share with us all. So, I do have more lovely project ideas to inspire you.

Janome America showed us a nifty in-the-hoop project that they are currently offering Janome America customers at select Janome events. Absolutely every stitch including the zipper is done in the embroidery hoop on the Janome MC15000. The zipper bag with flashy Peacock embroidery was just the right size for our ipads! Which of course is important seeing as we use our iPads all the time with their Janome exclusive WIFI connection to our Mc15000's!

 Are you using the Janome APP’s on your iPad? AcuEdit? AcuMonitor? AcuDesign? Accessory Video App? iPad screen saver app? SO much fun…..so much easier. Janome offers our customers the very latest in technology……are you making use of it???

Don’t know about you but I have a “thing” for circles….this mini quilt was just lovely: circles, circles, circles…..appliques cut with the Edge Cutter and dec stitched with the Janome Circular attachment…….or maybe not? Perhaps it was ALL done using the Artistic Simple Cut software, Edge Cutter and embroidery in the hoop? Either method works for me……how about you?

    Hello Liz,
    I’m sure you had an awesome time in Japan. I was wondering if you could send me the pattern for the in the hoop bag with the peacock feather on it.
    Thank you;
    Patricia

      Hi Patricia

      Sorry, I am not able to send you this embroidery design (it is all done in the embroidery hoop) as it was merely a project that Janome America showed the Educators in Japan. I believe they were using this as part of one of their Educational programs for their American dealers.

    Wonderful post! Visiting Japan must have been incredible!
    I enjoy doing in the hoop projects on my 15000 and hope they make the designs for the ipad case available.
    I love these, especially the circles! I can’t figure out how the circles with designs come out evenly. Does the machine do this or is it trial and error?

      Hi Ceil,
      Glad you liked the post.
      The circles were either done using the Janome Circular attachment or the Simple Cut Software and Edge cutter.
      I’m pretty sure the circles of fabric were cut with the Artistic Edge cutter and the dec. stitching digitize in the Simple Cut software which comes with the Edge cutter. This is done as applique in the Embroidery hoop.
      It can also be done using the Circular attachment which allows you to sew in a perfect circle – applique, decorative stitching etc.
      Both techniques make perfect circles very easy.
