THE NEW JANOME MC500E ……THEY KEEP FLYING OUT THE DOOR!

IMG_3791

The Janome MC500E is literally flying out our doors as quick as it is coming in by the container load from Janome……seriously!  Actually it is not really a surprise as this brand new embroidery-only machine is a smoking hot deal with FOUR hoops included with the machine as well as many other top-of-the-line features.

The largest hoop is almost as large as the biggest hoop with our Janome MC15000 top-of-the-line machine so neither wonder so many people are banging down their dealer’s doors to get their hands on one of these machines (well not literally of course!)

500e-hoops

Not only are there BIG hoops included, but you also get a huge big extension table for this embroidery machine included too! It has fold-out legs and fits beautifully around the machine to give an extra-large surface  to support the embroidery hoops. Hoop sizes are: 5.5×5.5 inches up to 7.9×11 inches. You asked for bigger hoops and you got them!  500e-frontThe screen is large and in lovely bright color.  The machine stitches up to 860spm and has 160 built-in embroidery designs. Of course, it is a easy as saying USB to import more designs into the machine so there are no limits to how many wonderful embroideries you can stitch out. 500e-back

One VERY cool feature is the ability to directly input a stitch number. Let’s say the design has 23,475 stitches and you want to get to stitch #16,239……No problem: touch the applicable icon on the touch screen and type in your magic #. The needle is now set to start stitching at that exact stitch. Very slick and impressive.

I am also extremely pleased to see we have trace and basting function on this machine so I can continue to hoop my stabilizer only and then baste my fabric on top of the hooped stabilizer. Basting is a wonderful feature……couldn’t manage without it like heated car seats in winter?!

Are there any Janome apps that work with the Janome 500e.

      Hi Theresa,

The Janome 500E is not a WIFI model so some of the APP’s wont work with the 500E. However, the AcuDesign App is for all Janome embroidery machines as well as other brand embroidery machines as it is multi-formatted. You cannot send & receive designs wirelessly but there are other ways to deal with this such as emailing designs in & out of the iPad.

I bought the mc500e 15 days ago. It works wonderful, also, yesterday I bought the small hoop, the RE10b, to use it with small monograms in clothes, but the machine does not allow me to choose this small hoop. It automatically selects the SQ20b hoop an does not allow me to change.
It is a pity if I can not use the RE10b hoop for writing monograms because it is small ant very appropriate to use in clothes.

      Hi Fernando,

You have to go into the EDIT screen to select a different hoop. Select the little house icon in top right of screen, then hoop icon and scroll till you get to the RE10b hoop on the second screen of hoops. It IS there so you can 100% use your new hoop!

I first saw this machine at a quilt show before it was actually released. It was March this year before I was able to purchase mine. I had a 12000 so the embroidery is an updated version. Its easy and quiet to use. I love it. So pleased to hear today that Janome have released a quilting module, mine should arrive on Friday.

I teach patchwork and quilting to ladies who belong to our local U3A. Being able to sew labels for their quilts is a big plus.

Are you able to embroider pockets, and shoulders of jackets (with a name)?
Will it hold a jacket to put a logo or name on it?
Thank you for any input you may have

      Hi Irene,

I am not sure about a smaller hoop. But we can certainly suggest it to Janome in Japan. Thanks for the suggestion and we are so pleased you like the Janome 500E. We agree with you that the stitching is of a high quality. They keep flying out the door so you are not the only one who has bought one & loves it!

      Hi Bonnie,
You really should visit your local Janome dealer where you purchased your machine to get some lessons on how to use your machine. The Janome MC500E does not use an SD card which is much older technology. It takes a USB stick. You rdealer will show you step by step how to save designs onto the USB stick and then how to open them at the machine.

I got the 500E for Christmas, and I can’t say enough good things about it! There are so many great features. I previously had the 300e, and this machine is such a major step up! And the large hoops and extension table are wonderful.

Thanks for the update on the 500E. I knew it was awesome, just not the extent of the nice stuff. It will make many folks happy that want to have an embroidery only machine.

No case to transport to embroidery clubs. Other then that love the machine, but would say that is a very important factor.

      Hi Donna,

In our experience, embroidery only machines are not toted around as much as regular sewing machines. We are currently unaware of a roller tote that will accommodate this machine. However, things constantly change and evolve so perhaps something will become available later?

Just bought this machine today, and am hoping you will come out with a tote sooner than later. Our local quilt shop has two embroidery classes on the go, so taking the machine to class is a must.
