One of our dealers in Saskatchewan: Wendy at Haus of Stitches recently hosted her Embroidery Club event. She chose to use the Artistic Edge 15 Digital cutter to cut the applique fabric stars. Then these stars were embroidered in the hoop. Each customer came to the Club with their Janome or Elna embroidery machine. Wendy showed them how the Simple Cut software works and cut the stars out for each of them on the Edge cutter.

I made these applique stars during a visit to Haus of Stitches early Fall 2015 and Wendy liked them so much she decided to use the concept for her Embroidery Club.
They were shown how the Simple Cut software also digitizes a placement stitch (running stitch line) which stitches first so that you know where to place the cut star on the hooped fabric. The fabric is prepared with Terial magic as we have discussed in several previous posts on this topic. Fusible web may also be ironed onto the back of the fabric. Spray glue may be used as an alternative to hold the star in position until the applique stitch is stitched around the star. This is colour #2 of the embroidery design. When the embroidery is completed, that is IT!
All that remains is to unhoop the embroidered star and sew it up into whatever project you desire. Wendy chose to have her customers make little Christmas hot mats or mug rugs. Here is the finished project….. Well done Wendy & customers! Just the little project to have completed in time for Christmas. Wish I could have been there as I’m sure you had way too much fun!!
Thanks for sharing this post. I was unable to attend as I was having “way to much fun” in sunny Arizona when Wendy had this Embroidery Club. She’s promised to do it again, and I will be attending. It looks like it was “way to much fun”.
