I took lots of photo’s on my recent visit to this store so that I could share the sewing & quilting eye-candy with you……..just in case you can’t get to SNIP AND STITCH SEWING CENTER in Nanaimo, BC in person. But check out these pics & their website….maybe you will travel this way……you won’t be sorry! They had a Sweetheart Sale during Janome Days over the Valentine’s weekend.

Kathy, one of the customers attending Janome Days, is proud of her quilt which she made in one of the many classes offered in this store: to learn all about how to use the incredible Janome Acufil Quilting system. Most of the quilting was done in the ASQ22 hoop as well as decorative stitching in the ditches.

Bev used built-in designs on her Janome MC15000 as well as 3D organza flowers to create this lovely “poppy” garden.

A fun IN-THE-HOOP embroidery project made by Margaret. A mug rug or mini placemat…there seemed to be some debate amongst some of customers but really all I saw was a great, simple & quick project with space for my cup of tea AND a cookie. Thanks for sharing, Margaret!

Another quilt on the wall – made by staff member, Donna, who cut all the appliques with the Artistic Edge cutter and used Simple Cut software to digitize the applique-in-the-hoop. Then it was Acufil quilted – naturally!

I did not want to believe Lillian when she told us that this was her very first quilt. She took the class at Snip and Stitch to make the quilt as well as learn how to use her Janome MC15000 with its incredible ACUFIL QUILTING SYSTEM to quilt the entire quilt. WELL DONE, Lillian!

A close up to show the Acufil quilting – SO quick and easy to let our Janome MC15000 embroidery machine and ASQ22 Acufil hoop do the work instead of causing stress to our shoulders and necks by other quilting methods! And don’t you agree with me that the varigated quilting thread works so beautifully?
JANOME DAYS ON THE VALENTINE’S DAY WEEKEND….SEWING FUN, CHOCOLATE, GOOD FRIENDS……who said we need real roses……roses & flowers on quilts work for us!
Would love to see a photo of the White quilt could be “stitches garden” no hope of going to show as I am in Australia
Cheers. Chris
