Have you ever heard of SKILLS CANADA? I just represented JANOME CANADA at the 22 th THE CANADIAN BUSINESSES AND TECHNOLOGY Competition-2016 and I am still very moved. Click each link above to learn more.
About Skills Canada (text copied from their website)
Canadian Skills Competition and technology is the only national competition for many specialized areas for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, over 500 young people from across Canada gather to take part in competitions in more than 40 trades and technologies.
By providing young people the opportunity to compete against their peers from across the country, SC also provides them with practical experience related to trades and technologies. In addition, for these competitions, Skills / Compétences Canada wants to introduce these specialized fields to youth and their influencers.
Students must take part in local competitions, regional and provincial or territorial to earn the chance to represent their province or territory for the Competition.
In order to help young people to participate in SC, JANOME CANADA has equipped the competition area # 31 … FASHION TECHNOLOGY with semi-professional machines, model Janome 1600P and Overlock model Janome Pro4DX. The making space was impressive, as you can see in the photo.

(I’m sharing the winner’s good news as soon as possible, even if I’m still in Moncton, New Brunswick, and the medal has just ended!)
The winner of the GOLD is M.Gabriel LEBLANC MONTREAL and here he stands proudly on top of the podium with the flag of Quebec! Coco Yu of BC took Silver and Katharina Kuntz of ON brought home Bronze. See a full list of results across all areas.

When all of the official photos were taken, the Janome team of eastern Canada (Robert B & Celine R) were quick to go congratulate the winner!

Since GABRIEL LEBLANC won the gold medal and he got the best results in its field, he will be one of 1200 competitors to participate in WORLD TRADES 2017 to ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES!
CONGRATULATIONS to GABRIEL LEBLANC !
BRAVO.
I am trying, very hard, to contact Celine. I have tried several versions of the email address I have been given – celine@janomecanada.ca without success. I talked to Celine in early June regarding the Edge – and on her helpful advice, bought the machine. She suggested I email her with any comments or queries. My dealer knows little (nothing) about the machine and is currently unable to order supplies for me and had problems finding Celine’s email. i eventually got it from another dealer – but it does not seem to be working. I would be very grateul if Celine could contact me.

Liz, that is great you had a chance to see this Skills Canada. I got to go when it was in Vancouver, my son was competing in the Millwright trade and won the Gold for Sask! It’s so awesome to see . They put on a real Olympic style event. Congrats to all the winners! It’s a wonderful experience for all those able to attend!

Hi Irene,
It was not me, it was my coworker Celine as the competition was held in New Brunswick.
But it sure looks like quite the event!
