Well, if you did not come out to Love to Sew Expo…….. sorry we missed you. It was a great show with beautiful attention to detail like flowers all over – even in the washroom! The Love to Sew colours of pink & blue as well as the retro theme was very visible.

The cutting of the ribbon to open the first ever Love to Sew Expo. Debra Justice on the right and her son, Spencer, on the left just before the ribbon was cut. Show attendees are eagerly waiting to come in!
Many of the classes were certainly well attended. My class on “12 ways to Bind a Quilt” was crazy! Standing room only with over 100 people attending. There were 80 chairs and I had printed 80 copies of the notes so many folk will have their notes emailed soon.

The incredible display of brown paper couture done by the students of Langara College’s Design Formation Program.
My class on Machine Embroidery – all the many things you can do with an embroidery machine was not as well attended but there was still a good number who turned up to see my 2 huge roller totes of embroidered samples and get inspiration and ideas for what they can try out at home.

The incredible quilt made by Cynthia Frenette of Mission BC for the launch of our new line of machines: the M series. Cynthia is one of our Janome artisans and it has been my privilege to travel with this quilt across Canada this Fall showing it at Dealer events and shows. The quilters and sewers just loved it. Thank you, Cynthia for making such a lovely quilt – her take on the Maker series logo.

It is over just over a month until Christmas so we added some festive accents to our booth! Notice the other lovely quilt on our booth: Tamara Kate’s “Whatever the Weather quilt” which was featured on this janomelife blog during September in our 3 part Quilt-along. Check this out if you have not yet done so – search the archives for each Monday in September: 7th, 14th & 21st Sept 2016. Tamara Kate is also another of our Janome artisans here in Canada.

Hi Shirley,
I’m sorry too that you did not manage to make it to my classes at Love to Sew Expo. Unfortunately there are no current plans to make these presentations available on You Tube or similar platforms. I did do similar presentations this Fall all over BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan in dealer stores and at other Sewing shows. Sorry you missed those too. Maybe next?

Hi Gayle,
Love to Sew Expo is a show produced by Debra Justice….Janome was one of the vendors at the show. But I do believe it will be held at the same venue in 2017: Agriplex at the Cloverdale Show Grounds, Surrey, BC.
