Merry and Bright Stitching

Making the Most of Your Quilt Stitching

cynthiamerryrunnerThose of you familiar with the Janome Look Book know that Artisan Cynthia Frenette made a splash with the Janome Serpentine stitch for quilting pillow tops and place mats. Now she shares a fresh table runner project using that same stitch.

Stitches, like accessories, give you the ability to enhance a project and give it personality. Often they can make for a time saving embellishment.

Cynthia made her table runner using the ultra-cheery Merry and Bright panel that she designed for Spoonflower. This panel provides the front, back AND binding bits for an all-in-one fabric selection (just add batting!).

With Holiday gift-making time fading fast, we’re all looking for quick tricks to finish up our gifts. Why not consider quilting a pre-made panel with the Serpentine stitch?

Which machine models have the serpentine stitch?

Hi Debbie. Cynthia sews on the MC 8200. The serpentine, or very similar curved stitch is available on many models from the M series to the Skyline and Horizon lines and on older models like the 6600P

First I’d like to say that I love, love, love Janome Canada, always so informative. I also love the serpentine stitch on my Janome 8900QCP and use it all of the time on my quilts! One of these days I’m going to make it to a quilt show in Canada, I’m in the US andI also subscribe to the Janome blog here but your blog always has something that I never see or hear about here. Thanks! (wish US citizens could participate in your give aways!)
