Yes, it is that time of the year again, we look back and we get ready to move forward.
We have had another busy Janome year here in Canada. Lots to do, lots of new machines; sewing and quilting shows to attend across Canada and many great Janome sewers, embroiderers and quilters to meet.

Fall 2016 brought Confessions of a Sewaholic events at many of our Janome dealers stores. Yes, I did “fess up”!
SO…….what lies ahead for 2017 with Janome? Please be sure to stay tuned to janomelife blog and at your local Janome Dealer for news of who & what is coming. My lips are sealed for now but there will be exciting things……there always are!
And you are sure to see special things planned for and made in celebration of Canada’s BIG year: Canada 150 plans are underway. Yes, Canada will be celebrating 150 years since Confederation of our unique and very special country. We are super proud to be Canadian and 2017 is certainly a big and important milestone for us. I will definitely be incorporating some of this Canadian pride into some of our 2017 samples.
The Canadian Quilters Association CQA/ACC is also planning big things to celebrate. There will be a BIG QUILT BEE at Quilt Canada 2017 next June in Toronto. Janome is one of the major sponsors of Quilt Canada 2017.
Quilters all over Canada are currently busy making blocks and quilts. The aim is to donate 1000 quilts to Ronald McDonald House for distribution to families with sick children across Canada. CQA/ACC needs your help to achieve the goal of 1000 quilts! Check out the website for further information.
Hi, Please I need your help as I live in an area there is no agent for janome .
I have the MC 15000 v2 and I am ignorant with many things in it . I tried yesterday to transfer an embroidery design to the machine with memory stick for first time. After many unsuccessful trials the machine started to show Ord instead of embf .. As I was frustrated to select this Ord file from the memory stick to restart again ..I deleted this Ord file from the machine .. I don’t have any idea what is the results of this and how I can return this Ord file to the machine . Any advice .
Thanks very much . Hala Wafai

Hi Hala,
You don’t say where you purchased your Janome MC15000. Unfortunately when you buy one of our top of the line embroidery machines you really DO need to go back to the dealer where you purchased it to get your owner’s lessons. You can learn on your own but it is certainly much easier to use the support our Janome dealers offer to customers who have purchased a machine. This blog is not the forum to offer in-depth answers to your queries, sorry.
Please read the manual that came with the machine as well as watch the instructional DVD that also came with the machine.
Please also refer to our blog post TODAY 18th January where we offer a long and comprehensive list of where you can find information and resources for learning. There are many video’s and webinars that you can access to assist you in your learning process.
There is also a workbook for the Janome Mc15000 which you can order from any authorized Janome dealer. That may prove to be very helpful to you.
There are blog posts on the subject of transferring designs to the machine. Please do a search on the home page of this janomelife blog (in the search box) to find these posts. Just search for “transferring designs”. There are several posts on this topic offering comprehensive information. The EMB folder is for embroidery designs and the ORD folder is for new 9mm stitches in sewing mode. These 9mm stitches are created in Stitch Composer which is part of the Horizon Link Suite software that also came with your machine (a CD which should be installed on your computer. The little blue ? in the top right corner of the opening pages of each of the categories in Horizon Link Suite gives you LOTS of information about how to use this great software and features on your machine.
I hope this has pointed you in the direction of where to find help for your self learning. Do allow yourself time to master the basics of operating your MC15000. Be patient and enjoy the learning process.

I have the MC15000 and I love it but I would like to see more hoops come out this year.

I’d like to see workshops combing the Artistic cutter, a lap top & an embroidery machine such as the 15000. Produce videos showing detailed steps from scanning to cutting to Applique.

Hi Carol,
Thank you for your suggestion. However, it may not be possible to offer this level of detailed workshops on a blog format. BUT: did you know that there are already many video’s available for you to watch? Firstly, please do a search on janomelife in the search box for Artistic Edge 15 cutter and you will be shown all the very many posts we have offered on this janomelife blog about this Artistic Creative product. Some of these do contain the information you are asking for and also there are links to the video’s and other resources for your learning process.
In addition: Please check out the following websites:
1. http://www.artisticcreativeproducts.com/digital-cutters/artistic-edge-15
2. Do a search on You Tube for ArtisticUSA (many video’s here)
3. And there are also many video’s on iTunes for free video’s & podcasts on these topics. (some are a repeat of what is on You Tube – 2 places for people to access information they need).
I do tell people where to find information wherever I go across Canada and also make this information available to our dealers in Canada. Possibly this information did not reach you?
I will follow up with some janomelife posts in the New Year ( the first of these is coming on 18th January 2017) on where to find resources for learning on a variety of topics. Stay tuned for this!
How does that sound?

I really enjoy reading your posts. Thank you for them. I live in Kansas and will never make it to Canada, but I can see it through your eyes. I bought a new Janine 15000 Horizon in April 2015 and I really like it. Keep up the good work
