Yes, sewing and quilting enthusiasts……it is time again for the Calgary show or more correctly names: CREATIV FESTIVAL WEST in Calgary. It is held south of the city at spectacularly beautiful Spruce Meadows show grounds. I love going each year as it is just SO pretty as the leaves have usually started turning gold and theere is a crispness in the air reminding us winter is on its way! I will be doing 2 different lecture demo presentations at the Calgary show on sergers: SERGER MAGIC 101 & SERGER MAGIC 201. Be sure to come by to see what I have to share using my clever camera so that you can see on the big screen what I am doing at the sergers. Please see the show guide for class descriptions but you may find just what you need to know about sergers in one or both of these free classes.
Janome Life 
With the new machines coming out, how do you decide which Janome is right for you? I want a Janome but which machine? All the bells and whistles – is it worth my money or too much money for what I do?? I’m getting so confused.

I will try to do a janomelife post on this topic in the coming weeks. But basically make a list with 2 columns: the first column should have all the machine features you MUST have/cannot live without. The second column has the features that would would very much like but could manage without. Then show this list to your local Janome dealer and they will be able to show you machines which match closely to your list. I always receommend that you buy a machine that is MORE than you currently want so that you can “grow into” the machine or you may run the risk of becoming frustrated that your machine does not do enough for you if you buy one with too few features. Make sense?
