Whether you love the finishing details part of sewing or not… there are always a number of handy features on your Janome sewing machine to help get the job done properly and efficiently!
One of my favourite feet on my Janome Skyline S7 is the buttonhole foot. I make a lot of little dresses for my nieces, and now for my newborn daughter, and while I always dread when I get to this part of the project, once I get started I wonder why I put off this part of my sewing projects.
I shied away from the buttonhole foot attachment for a long time and I’m not sure why. It’s actually very straightforward to use.
Putting the buttonhole foot on your machine is really easy.
Remove the current foot you are using and attach using the bar at the front of the buttonhole foot.
And don’t forget to pull down the bar on the left hand side that will guide the length of your buttonhole.
Select the buttonhole option you want and you’re ready to go! My go-to is usually 01 but I also love using the memory feature (02) for those unique sewing needs.
Press down on the foot pedal and you are ready to go. I love how easy it is to use this foot!
Do you use this foot on your machine? What are you sewing buttonholes on these days? Have you ever used buttonhole feature #12 to sew buttons on using your machine?
