ARTISTIC DIGITIZER- a closer look at key features

onion_layers_21530

Embroidery designs are created in layers.  You usually digitize from the background to the foreground.  When we purchase a design, we do not know how the designer created the stitch file.  Artistitc Digitizer allows us to peel back the layers and look closely at the design and view how it will stitch out before we send it to our machine.

Open a design that was purchased or downloaded from the internet.   Artistic Digitizer has the ability to open file formats other than the .JEF native format.  Below is a .VP3 stitch file I downloaded from the internet.  I opened the software and then navigated to where the design was on my computer.

CAN USE BUILT IN DESIGNS OR YOUR OWN DESIGNS FROM YOUR COMPUTER

Once the design is open on the worktable, click on the down arrow at the top of the sequence bar to open it up completely.  Now you can see all the steps as to what will stitch from first to last.  This helps to plan how you will work through the design at the machine.

JANOME ARTISTIC DIGITIZER CAN ACCOMMODATE ALL YOUR EMBROIDERY DESIGNING NEEDS

About ymenear

I have been sewing my entire life. I love sewing of all types but recently I have focused on quilting and machine embroidery. I am an educator for quilting and embroidery design software and I own and operate a machine embroidery club that teaches students how to use their machine effectively while creating their own unique projects. I love travel and getting to know people from different regions and seeing how they create projects with their machines.

MC 15000 capabilities question. We’re getting ready to purchase Janome’s Artistic Digitizer software (full version). The software integrates embroidery, cutworks, paint, and crystals all in one interface (Great and finally). We know that the MC 15000 performs embroidery very well, however we cannot find any attachments such as paint pen holders, crystal punches (8SS, 10SS, etc.) or cutting needle adaptors for the MC 15000. Does the MC 15000 have these other capabilities. We have extensive experience with Bernina Embroidery 8 and DesignWorks (Cutworks, PaintWorks, and CrystalWorks) using our Bernina 880 Plus (it has the Bernina specific attachments for these function). We would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thank you in advance.

      Hi Roy,

Good question. We do things a little differently to some other brands. Yes, the cutwork, etc is integrated in the Artistic Digitizer software. Cutwork needles are available for separate purchase and work with both our Artistic Digitizer software and our Janome Digitizer MBX software. The needles are used on/ are compatible with the Janome MC15000. We also DO have pen holders, crystal punches and a whole range of other attachments and tools for use with our Artistic software in conjunction with our Artistic Edge digital cutters. I actually far prefer the cutting of fabric for appliques etc using the Artistic Edge Digital cutter to using cutting needles. It is much easier and the cut edge is much crisper and neater. We do not use the pens, paints on the MC15000. This is done at the Artistic Edge cutter. And yes, we can do or add crystals; cutwork, paint/pen work etc to our embroideries and hoop appliques. Similar results, different method.
Hope that addresses your query. Happy shopping and have fun!

Thank you, that clears it up for us. Janome needs to update the links on the web site for cutter. It not accessible from the homepage or the products menu.

        Hi Roy,
Yes, we know about the links to the Edge Cutter and Artistic Creative products. I believe there was an issue and they had to take that website down. They are working on getting it back up but I don’t have a time line on this.
