I’ve recently returned from a fabulous week in Quebec working the Janome booth at the Courtepointe Quebec quilt show which is held in the province every two years.
As a tip, if you don’t have it already on your computer, a translation software package really helps you to access all the fantastic, fun and useful information you’ll find on other websites around the world. Since Janome is a Global company, I visit all of their sites for information and inspiration.
I must admit I was a little worried working a show in Quebec as I hadn’t spoken French since Grade 9 – just a few years ago, lol! – but fortunately most of the attendees and other vendors at the show not only understood and spoke English, everyone was so patient and polite as I muddled my way through.
A BIG help was having our District Sales Manager for Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, Line Giguere, with me through the whole trip. She was an excellent translator and also did some pretty impressive demos with our fabulous Janome machines. Below Line is showing how easy it is to free-motion quilt on the Janome Quilt Maker Pro 18.
She’s only using one hand, just a couple of fingers, to move the machine. Talk about light weight and easy to move!
After seeing just how quick and easy and FUN quilting can be using the Janome Quilt Maker Pro 18, everyone wanted to try stitching for themselves. As Janome says, go ahead, be an artist. Easy to do when Janome gives us such fabulous tools!
You may have noticed the variegated blue/grey/white yarn off to the left of the fabric on the quilting frame. That was stitched down easily with Janome’s Couching Feet set designed for the Janome Quilt Maker Pro and the Artistic SD 16 sit-down machine. I mention this as a tease because, in an upcoming post, I’ll talk more about these accessory feet and show examples of them working their magic.
I’ll also share more from the Courtepoint Quebec show and especially all the gorgeous quilts on display. If you haven’t subscribed to the Janome Life Blog yet consider doing so so you don’t miss a post! Just sign up in the follow or subscribe box on the right hand side of the screen.
