Janome Life

The Janome girls hit the road this Spring!

So did you get a chance to pop in to your local dealer for the Janome events this Spring? Liz and I made a whirlwind tour throughout Alberta to share some super awesome updates and techniques. And it definitely was a quick trip! 7 shops in 6 days, all the way from Lethbridge to Edmonton.

Our first stop was Lethbridge Sewing Center. We taught our “Rule Your Quilts and Reign over your sewing”  class, which introduced many of you to the fun and thrilling technique of ruler quilting. We also had an opportunity to share about the updates to the Memory Craft 9400 and the Horizon MC15000 Quilt Maker. If you haven’t had a chance to pop in to see everyone in Lethbridge, take your next opportunity. They have a lovely store full of fresh modern fabrics and notions.

Next up was Duecks Sewing Centre in Medicine Hat. A fully stocked sewing machine store awaited us, along with many ladies waiting to hear what was new from Janome. It was full to capacity, actually, standing room only! The only unfortunate thing about that day was I had completely lost my voice, and couldn’t even squeak out my own name. Thankfully Liz was there too, and she saved the day. We met so many new faces in Medicine Hat, I can’t wait to return and see what they have been up to. Just before we began our trek to Calgary, we stopped at a super amazing fabric store, called Mook Fabrics. It was like heaven on earth. Everything from quilting fabric, flannels, dress making and activewear, to swim, jersey and tech fabric for coveralls. And the best part, is they were just around the corner from Duecks Sewing Centre.

Once we got to Calgary, we had the pleasure of visiting both the north and south store locations of Sewing World. Full classes awaited us, where we answered lots of questions and shared our samples and new techniques. Sewing World is fully stocked with Janome feet and accessories, making it the perfect spot to pick up something new if you are in Calgary. (PS, my voice still hadn’t returned so I was still not saying too much haha !)

Red Deer Sewing Centre was next on our tour, and it also is a shop focused on machines and accessories. They have a lovely classroom in the back portion of their store, so it made for a quiet location to display our samples about “Hidden Secrets of the MC15000”  in the morning. The afternoon brought a detailed demo using the Janome MC9400 machine and ruler quilting, with our “Rule your Quilts and Reign over your sewing” presentation. And we had a delicious lunch across the road at a local deli, it was so delicious.  Definitely worth stopping in there after you visit the staff  at Red Deer Sewing Center.

Edmonton was our final destination, where we visited Johnson’s Sewing Center (also home of Quilter’s Dream fabrics, which is amazing). They also have a very nice classroom, decorated with samples and projects. We had a full house there as well, for both presentations on our Spring Education Menu. By then my voice had returned, so I had the pleasure of speaking and teaching a lovely audience. If you haven’t had a chance to try out Ruler Quilting, or the new ruler set from Janome, pop in to your local Janome dealer to see what’s new.

Until next time,
