Isn’t this just lovely? Lorrie attended our Hidden Secrets of the Janome Mc15000 seminar in November and was so thrilled with the skills she learned at this 2 day seminar that she went home and completed this Holiday table runner using the Acufil (ASQ22) hoop to quilt the entire table runner using her Janome MC15000 embroidery machine. Aka quilting-in-the-hoop! She tells me she had already free motion quilted it but she unpicked that all and redid it using her newly learned Acufil quilting/embroidery skills. We are very impressed ……well done Lorrie!!
And we share this so you can appreciate what we were teaching: Janome features that save you time and do a fabulous job in your sewing room.
And just for the record: this Acufil quilting is also available for Janome Mc11000, Mc12000, MC500E and MC550E. It is not exclusively for Janome MC15000 although the Mc15000 does offer a larger Acufil hoop for this unique technique.
Here is a close up where you can see the Acufil stippling that Lorrie used to quilt the runner. Unpicking is such a pain but I think Acufil quilting is SO much neater than free motion unless you have practiced many, many hours and are a Pro at free motion. Don’t you agree? And the multiple hooping to achieve the results you see here is much quicker than you might think as it is a rather clever and efficient process.
Watch this spot in early 2020 as we will be announcing more Janome Canada Consumer seminars. We would love to meet you and be able to teach you similar skills to what Lorrie learned and put to such good use here. Thanks for sharing, Lorrie.
Hi Liz, the pattern is a free download https://sewkindofwonderful.com/collections/free-patterns/products/qcr-mod-ornament and easy to make with their QCR Mini ruler.

I wish my local sewing shops had more Feature classes for this machine. I feel like there is so much more that I could be doing with this machine, but the numerous features overwhelms me and stumps my imagination. The manual is great, but it does not show the many creative ways/project to use the functions. YouTube is limited on what I can find on project videos as well. I can’t understand why it seems so hard to find these types of resources for this machine as it does a lot of the things the Brother machines do, just in a different way.

Hi Angela,
I sense your frustration. Sorry about that. Some stores offer lots of support to their MC15000 customers. Others not so much – for a variety of reasons. And some people tell me they just live too far away from their Dealer’s store to attend classes. Real hard to please everyone. Do you know about the Workbook for the MC15000? We have done several janomelife blog posts about this already and it is purchasable from any North America Janome dealer. You would find that very helpful indeed as it gives you exercises to learn almost everything about the Mc15000 and goes way beyond what a manual does.
And we have started a new initiative in Canada – Hands-on seminars direct to Consumers. We have only had one so far – held in Oakville, Ontario on the Mc15000 but we are planning more for 2020. The venue may not suit you but you could always ask your local Dealer to offer the workshops you seek. It can’t hurt to ask.
Happy New Year!

How can I get emails about what is going on for Janome 15000 in the USA?
It gets frustrating reading about great things happening , but all in Canada.
Living in the lower part of USA it’s hard to attend these seminars😥! As another comment states, YouTube is very limited on features of the 15000.
Great machine by the way!

Hi RuthAnn,
Janome Canada is a separate subsidiary to Janome America. We do collaborate but we also work separately on various projects and initiatives. I disagree with you that it is “all in Canada”. Janome America has much to offer including a fabulous videography department which produces many excellent video’s on a wide range of topics. Here is a link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3A-Q-V2aueEBUIWdBoGDRg. Janome America has also produced the fabulous Workbook for the Janome MC15000 which you can purchase from your dealer. (Reviewed several time shere on janomelife). We highly recommend this to all Janome MC15000 owners. Your local Janome Dealer should also be your go-to #1 source of support, information and classes.
