Do you chain piece? I have been busy making a mystery quilt with our new Janome Canada Artisan, Melissa Marginet on her Facebook group. I think the mystery is pretty much solved at this point but I have very definitely been doing a whack load of chain piecing! It is incredibly time, labour and thread saving. Don’t think I would ever do this one 1/4 inch seam at a time. I did a quick video during my chain piecing marathon where I point out how to set up the Janome machine, what foot to use, etc. Check it out on our new Janome Life You Tube channel.
As as aside: in the video I was using the Janome 1/4 inch piecing foot O with guide. In the pic above I have the Janome HP2 foot attached to the Janome Continental M7 – this is a fabulous combo of the HP foot and Acufeed flex walking foot. Either foot works wonderfully. And there are other 1/4 inch piecing options which we have discussed many times on Janome Life. I think we have at least 6 different feet to use for 1/4 inch piecing.
