We have another Instagram Live today at 10am Pacific/11am Mountain /1pM Eastern. Janomeman will be showing the HP foot and plate as well as the HP2 foot. What are these feet? What can we use them for? And with what Janome machines are they compatible?
As before, check out this link if you need instructions of how to watch the Instagram Lives we present.

Hi Geri,
Yes, we will post it to You Tube but next week as we are going to enjoy the long weekend first. But if you search for HP foot, HP2 foot or 9400 in the search box, there are MANY posts already there on this machine and this foot.

Hi Geri,
Turns out Instagram changed things on us just on Thursday. The Instagram Live presentations are no longer saved to our story for 24 hours after the presentation. Instead there is now IGTV where the video goes. However, you may need to update the Instagram App on your mobile device as this seems to only be available and work on the upgraded app.
But you can actually watch the video there on IGTV. Just search for Janome Canada.

I am trying to watch the Instagram post on the HP foot that was on today but it doesn’t seem to be playing properly (usually you can access it for 24 hours on instagram).

Hi Sandy,
Yes, we know. Instagram made changes just yesterday and caught us off guard today. Poor Michael was having a moment when his Live ended as the Instagram screen at the end of the Live was very different. The icon to save the video to our story was just not there. We had a whole new set of icons etc. So here is what we have found out: you can no longer save the Live presentations to the story where it stayed for 24 hours. Now you get the option to save it to IGTV where it stays – we think until we delete it? we are not sure but are currently investigating our options. But the video is saved on IGTV as Michael pressed the correct icons even though he was somewhat perplexed. But it appears that you have to update your mobile device in orer to see IGTV. I tried it on my iPad and my phone. One was updated and showed me the IGTV logo where the video was saved. My phone did not. I had to update my Instagram App before the IGTV icon showed up and the video could be seen.
We also do publish these videos on our Janome Life YOU TUBE channel (in the Instagram Live playlist) but we are currently pretty swamped with a big project so there will be some delays in getting this done. Hopefully later next week. We are going to enjoy the long weekend first.
Hope that helps a bit. We were as surprized as you probably are!

Hi Liz. With the Acu Feed Dual Feed Holder I have a problem with both sizes. The Dual Feed Link that pushes into the Upper Feed Drive does not stay inserted. This happens on both the single and the twin dual feed holder. I’ll be sewing along and all of a sudden the stitches go wonky and the fabric is not moving properly. And what has happened is the dual feed link has come out of the upper feed drive. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks Linda

Hi Linda,
This should not be happening unless you are going fast over bulky parts & thicknesses like seams. I always tell people that you cannot go fast over speed bumps as your car will not like that. We should always slow down when going over bumps. Of course, you may not be doing this. I’m just asking troubleshooting questions. What fabrics are you using when this happens? What stitch are you using?
Please check that you are 100% sure you are attaching the foot to the machine correctly and that the hook is fully inserted at the back. Check that the foot is seated correctly against the shank and that is fully screwed in.
If this still keeps happening despite doing what I suggest here, then you may need to involve your Dealer. With the pandemic, you may have to phone or email them and see what they might be able to do during this time.

I did watch the above video and noticed Janomeman (love that name), kept his finger on that hook in the back while he tightened the screw on the side. I will try tha even though I have never noticed my screw of foot/holder being off kilter. FYI This happens when I am quilting either single stitch, decorative stitch or FMQ. I am fighting with the large role of fabric on my machine bed so perhaps the role of fabric is knocking that hook out??? I will get this checked out with my dealer when I can though. Thanks sew much! Hope you and your family are well.
