Hoping to find my answer as to why I cannot get a hem done without a light weight knit working its way out from the white slider.

Hi Kathleen,
Have you tried using a spray like Best Press on the knit or using stay tape? I always use fusible stay tape on my lightweight knits otherwise I find it puckers. Much like doing a zig – zag or decorative stitch with a stabilizer?

Hi Liz, I used stay tape and Best Press individually and used both on samples. It still slipped out of the white slider. I noticed there are 4 screw holes on the bed of the 2000cpx coverpro. Should I have used other holes instead of the middle 2 as instructed? My dealer is closed and it is difficult to discuss this over the phone and they are so busy. I bought Type 2. Should I have bought Option 1 instead? Thank you for the help.

Hi Kathleen,
I don’t think you should be using different holes than the ones in the instructions. Both type 1 and type 2 hem guides work. I am going to ask my education team for their suggestions and will get back to you on this query.

Hi Kathleen,
I heard back from one of my educators. She agrees with me that if you have a larger flat surface on which to support the fabric, that would help so that it does not slip out of the guides on the machine. We do have an extension table for the CPX so we both recommend that you consider that optional accessory. Available from our Janome dealers.
She also says Best Press will help but not on thicker fabrics.
She thinks stay tape may not be the answer although I have had a lot of success with stay tape. I swear by it for thin, lightweight knits.
Lastly, she suggests that you have a tighter adjustment on all the guides.
Hopefully that Will help you achieve the results you want with the hem guide.

Of course ALL these Live presentations are saved instantly after the Live to IGTV and within minutes you can watch them by going to the pages I listed above and look for the little IGTV icon with the TV antenna.
AND we are also posting the videos to You Tube. The Janome Canada lives are on the Janome Life You Tube channel and the janomeHQ lives are on the JanomeHQ channel. These take a little longer to get posted as it is not automatic. We have to transfer them, edit them and find the time to do all this! So please be patient but usually within a few days these will be published on You Tube as well as IGTV.
So you have multiple places to watch these videos at your own pace and time!!
