Software Snippets: Create Your Own Clipart

Artistic Digitizer contains a large clipart library.  There are many creative uses for these designs from embroidery to crafting. Anne’s recent video shows how to create your own clipart, add it to the clipart library then use it with the array fill tool.

Create your clipart shape by using the Shape tool on the right hand menu:

Keep the shape selected.

Your cursor will now have a cross hair. Starting at the edge of your shape, click and drag an arrow across your shape -this will be the arrow used to create the shape once in the library.

The ClipArt Library window will appear, name your shape, select insert.

To use the shape with an array fill, create the shape you want to fill. In Properties select array fill.

Clipart Library will open, scroll to your design, select insert, click and drag to the desired size within the shape you want to fill. Once you release the mouse the shape will be filled with your design.

In the Properties window, you have several controls to use to further edit your clipart within your shape.  When creating your clipart you have the controls to decide what type of stitches will be in the design – a step fill with a pattern, or a satin fill with a pattern.  If you are creating clipart that will be on outline you can use running, satin or decorative. There is a video to show this feature.  It can be found on the Janome Artistic Digitizer FB page. Here is a link to that video: https://www.facebook.com/groups/683691345732262/

Thanks Anne for your expertise on creating clipart!

Until next time,
