QUESTION… I own a Janome. MC9900 Read manual several times. But there is nothing on how to buy a border or alpha font and load them to ord part of reg embroidery. It’s all for framed part. Will there ever be a way to load them to reg sewing.? I would love to be able to sew a quick border to a sheet without having to put in frame then move it every 6′

Hi Debbie,
Are you referring to doing a row of ordinary decorative stitching along a sheet? Are you not referring to hooped embroidery border pattern?
If so, you can do decorative stitching on the Mc9900 but you just cannot do these stitches wider than 9mm as you are limited by the width of the hole in the needle plate.
If you want a border wider than 9mm, your options are to do multiple rows of decorative stitching close together to form a border – this is called stitch building ( and the border guide foot is very good for that) OR you have to use your embroidery hoop and do multiple hoopings. Which is not difficult – you just need to master how to line those designs up. Our Janome Clothsetter is brilliant for that.
We are going to be offering more online classes in January and one in the works is on embroidery and will cover many things, one of them being doing multiple hoopings.
