Not only is this the perfect stocking stuffer, it is also a VERY useful pair of specialty scissors which anyone who does applique or needs cut fabric close up to stitching will be super happy to have.
Big is not always better…….in the world of fiddly applique, small 4 inch duck bills are the perfect tool to get the job done!
This is show and tell of a current project I am working on: all applique in-the-hoop using Smith Street Designs CD’s. Will eventually be a twin bed quilt. But for now you can bet money on the fact that I was super grateful that I had a pair of our NEW Janome mini duck bill scissors to trim away the fabric as the embroidery was being done in the hoop. I could have cut all the applique pieces before embroidering but the Artistic Edge digital cutter is at the storage locker so I used the trim in place technique instead. It would have driven me crazy if I had not had the right tool for the job!!
