What can you do with an Embroidery Machine? Plus info about our virtual embroidery class coming up soon.

The Janome 550e Embroidery machine is a wonderful machine. Great for embroidering all your favourite designs, making embroidery designs, in- the- hoop projects, quilt labels, adding embroidered monograms, and personalizing a wide array of gifts.

I have 4 beautiful little girls in my world. I wanted to make them something personalized for Christmas, but what to make? Little girls, as well as big girls, like purses. Great for carrying your prize possessions. This is what I made for them.

If you would like to learn more about what a Janome Embroidery machine can do, you are invited to attend our virtual Saturday Embroidery retreat, “Let’s Explore Embroidery“. This learning opportunity is being offered by Janome Canada Educators only through participating Janome Canada dealers. There are 2 dates to choose from : Saturday 30th January 10am – 3pm EASTERN and Saturday 6th February 10am – 3pm PACIFIC. This virtual class is aimed at beginner to intermediate machine embroiderers and those who want to find out more about what their embroidery machine does. There will be a lecture/demo presentation to start with about how to hoop correctly, needles, threads, how to transfer designs to your machine and how to open them up on the machine screen, what are all the machine icons for, and more. We will then make 4 delightful in-the-hoop embroidery projects with assistance from our educators during this virtual class. The embroidery designs and a supply list is provided to registered attendees at these classes. Any Janome embroidery machine with a minimum 5×7 inch hoop size and a USB port to transfer designs is required for this class.  If you are interested, send a message in the comment box below and we will let you know which of our Janome Canada dealers are participating so that you can register. But do hurry as both classes are filling up fast and registration will close soon.

Here are some pics to whet your appetite – projects we will be embroidering – Would you like join us for some creative embroidery fun and learning??

*** Please note that we are not taking registrations for this class on this blog nor direct with Janome Canada. These are Virtual classes through our dealers and so you will need to contact your local participating dealer to register for these virtual classes.  If your dealer is not  participating, the dealers listed below are and will be happy to take your registration – many of them are accepting online registrations and payment for the classes. Hi Vicky,

I don’t believe I have ever downloaded embroidery files from Etsy. So I am not sure how this is done. I think you are best asking the Etsy vendor to assist you.
You will need to be very sure you do not download any files that are larger than the hoop for the 200E or they will not open at your machine. And they need to be .jef format.

      Hi Monique,
You are very welcome. This is an ideal class for beginners to intermediate level. Your 550E is perfect for what you will learn and the projects you will make.
However, you will need to be super quick to contact one of the dealers on the list of participating dealers – this list was given in the blog post. We are closing registrations tomorrow. The class is quite full so if you cannot get into the class in time before we close registrations, we will be repeating it on 6th February at 10am – 3pm PACIFIC – which would be 1-6pm Eastern. Registrations for the 6th February class close next Friday 29th January.

I have updated the blog post published today with information about participating dealers who can provide you with more information. I will also publish a follow up blog post with more information. In the meanwhile here is some info:

It is a 5 hour virtual class where there will be lecture/demo on many aspects of machine embroidery as well as plenty time for hands on embroidery – you will get 4 projects to embroider. I will publish another post with more information about this class in the coming days.

You will need to register with one of our participating Janome Canada dealers in order to attend either the class on 30th January or the class the next week on 6th. Same class just offered in 2 different time zones to better suit people.
