Using Janome ‘Tapering’ to embellish

It doesn’t take much to enhance a garment, and we like to wear unique garments. Owning a Janome means that we have the perfect sewing machines to add our personal touch.

In today’s example, the ‘tapering’ function was used to embellish the striped blouse. There are several synonyms for the word ‘tapering’ : thinning, beveled, tapered, conical, becoming narrower, angle tilted, these are all “explanations” of the ‘tapering’ function

This is a screenshot of the M7 screen once the tapering function has been pressed.

The Continental M7 Professional was used in this example, but you will also find the ‘tapering ‘ function on some of our other Janome sewing machine models: Quilt Maker MC15000, MC9450P,   Skyline S9

The more we use our machines, the more we discover the features. Do  you know how many sequences of the tapered decorative point you can program using the tapering function? Nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine… Yes, 9999 sequences !!! and this information is not written in the user manual because it would take a book the thickness of a dictionary, hence the importance of taking your owner’s lessons when buying a sewing machine.

The blouse was embellished using the Janome M7 Professional as well as information from the AcuSpark app. This app is free to download for Apple and Android smart phones and tablets.

These two screen shots are from the ACUSpark app.
The AcuSpark App is like having the manual at your fingertips.

Decorative stitching has been added to the tip of the collar, on the front button band, on the cuff by the button and between the front buttonholes.

Visit your local authorized dealer Janome for more information about the ‘tapering’ function.
