Now I don’t mean sitting relaxing or couch surfing with your long arm machine. I want to show you a unique embellishing method.
The couching foot adds a unique look to your project. There are three different feet for the long arm. Each foot has a different size hole to accommodate different sizes of yarn. This all depends on the look you want.
Just feed the yarn through this hole and sew away. The needle catches the yarn and sews it in place. It is that easy.

To show you the difference, here is a quilted piece. This pattern is one of the many built in designs that comes with QMP Pro-Stitcher – the computerized component of the longarm.

This is the same design using a fuzzy yarn. It looks completely different.
Again, here is another design that is included with the Pro Stitcher software.
This pattern was also sewn with a fuzzy yarn. The local Dollar Store is a great place to get this yarn. Depending on the look you want, will depend on the type of yarn you use. Make sure you slow the speed of the machine as it will save you a lot of hassles if the yarn becomes tangled.
Contact your local Janome Dealer to purchase the couching foot accessory for your QPM Long Arm. Stay tuned for more fun things to do with your long arm.
Happy Quilting!
