Reliable; dependable; always there when needed; has the ability to calm you down when the unexpected happens and brings a smile to your face. I could be talking about your sewing machine, but I’m actually describing of our fabulous Janome Dealers, Triangle Sewing Centre in Guelph, ON (about 100km west of Toronto) who’s been another of our Janome dealers collecting donations of sewing supplies for the I Love First Peoples Sew and Sew program.

Janome Canada has partnered with the I Love First Peoples organization to help share the love of sewing with kids in Indigenous communities in remote area across Canada, and they’ll soon be sewing on new Janome 2030QDC machines!

Just a few short months ago we shared the good news by asking for donations of much needed sewing supplies, so the kids could get started sewing right away! I think sewists/ quilters/ crafters are generous folks by nature, but I must say I’ve been sew blown away by the amount of donations collected so far. I’ve personally collected 4 car loads (I drive a SUV) FULL! and many donations have also been mailed and dropped off in person at our Janome Sewing and Learning Centre in Oakville, ON.
Click HERE to see a little video I made of the amount of donations received so far!
I recently stopped by Triangle Sewing Centre to pick-up the donations they’ve been collecting, and, with perfect coincidental timing, 2 more boxes were dropped off while I was there! lol!

Celebrating over 50 years in business, Nancy Caravaggio and her late husband Nick, took over Triangle Sewing Centre 31 years ago, and it continues to be a family operation, with Nancy’s daughter Krista at the helm and daughter Shelly and grandson Paul helping out whenever needed. Though on-site service technician extraordinaire, Reza, isn’t related by blood, he’s been working his magic on machines at Triangle Sewing Centre for over 20 years, so he’s certainly thought of as being one of the family, too, lol. All the staff is!

Though COVID restrictions may limit in-person shopping at the moment, Triangle Sewing Centre is open for curbside pick-up and ONLINE shopping through their website.
If you’re a regular viewer of our Janome HQ Instagram Live presentations (every Wednesday at 1pm EST @janomehq) you’ve definitely seen me use several products by Madeira. Their metallic thread, for example, has been my favourite to use for years, and I use every scrap of the Madeira Stabilizers, as I’ve often demoed. Janome Canada is a distributor of Madeira products, so ask your Janome Dealer for more information, and to order. I was thrilled to see all of these Madeira goodies at Triangle Sewing Centre!

Though I wouldn’t describe Triangle Sewing Centre as a particularly large store, they have A LOT to offer and are great at utilizing their space. Just look at all these goodies on display! Janome Canada is also a distributor of Daylight Lamps, like the Slimline model in the photo. Good lighting is sew important for good sewing!

Are you in the market for a new serger, or perhaps looking to upgrade? No problem! When COVID restrictions permit, take some time to test drive each machine so you find the one which feels best for you. The staff is so friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help, you too, become like family.

And speaking of sergers, a very special NEW model with the Janome 100th Anniversary logo!

With so many of us getting back into garment sewing, especially while home more, you may find it very helpful to have a buddy to help with fitting. A dressmaker’s form, or Judy, can be adjusted to match your body measurements, and can be a useful tool when auditioning fabrics and checking the fit of your pattern, and the work in progress. I thought this sign pinned to a Janome Artistic Dress Form was cute!

Thank you SEW much to everyone who’s taken the time and effort to donate to the I Love First Peoples Sew and Sew program! For more about the donation drive, visit our Janome Canada website. The donation drive ends May 31st! then I’ll be sorting through and packing the donated sewing supplies so they can be shipped to the schools with the new machines.
Donations are also being collected at the following Janome Dealers: Alliston Sewing Machine Service in Alliston, ON; The Sewing Cafe in Georgetown, ON and by mail and in person at the Janome Sewing and Learning Centre in Oakville, ON. If you’d like to donate, but don’t live near these locations and would rather not mail/ ship supplies, please consider making a financial contribution directly to the Sew and Sew program on the I Love First Peoples website.
Thank you to Nancy, Krista, and everyone at Triangle Sewing Centre for your continued help and support and to everyone who’s donated, THANK YOU! for sharing the love!
Happy Sewing!
I travel from Mississauga Ontario to Guelph(53km each way) to fill all my Janome needs. Nancy and the crew are all so kind and helpful. I recently purchased my dream machine, Janome 15000 and a sewing table and cabinet. The after sales service is top notch. Nancy has kindly listened to all my questions and orders to hold, without ever seeming to tire of me. I would drive even farther if necessary to go to my favorite store. It’s worth the drive to Guelph!!

I have shopped at Triangle sewing for at least 25 years. Bought my first sewing machine from the amazing Nick at his booth at the CNE. Nancy, Krista and the rest of the staff have been wonderful to deal with whether it was answering one of my million and one questions or going in for teaching.
The machine servicing has always been superior. Thank you for being part of this wonderful initiative. Roberta in Newmarket
