The Janome MC 9450 offers even more “flex”ibility with AcuFeed!

A while back I sewed a set of 4 placemats, a table runner and 4 mug rugs from a beautiful indigo blue layer cake. I decided to try a different quilting technique on each of the placemats. I quilted one placemat, the table runner and the mug rugs using a few of the fabulous Janome AcuFeed Flex feet. They are amongst my all-time favourite Janome presser feet.

Janome has offered the Twin/ Dual AcuFeed Flex Foot Holder and the Single/ Narrow AcuFeed Flex Foot Holder for a number of years now, but, DEBUTING with the Horizon MC 9450QCP, and available with the Janome Continental M7, as well, Janome has released the  AcuFeed Flex Professional Grade HP 2 foot.

As you can see in the photo below, even amongst the Janome AcuFeed Flex feet for the Twin/ Dual holder, I couldn’t decide on just ONE foot to use. And, really, why should we decide? Janome presser feet are some of the most economically priced in the market, and they all do such fun, time-saving things yielding better, more professional results.

The fabulous Miriam Coffey from Janome America talks about the various Janome Acufeed Flex presser feet in this video HERE. Going clockwise from the top left in the pic below : The regular AD foot, UD Open Toe foot, OD Quarter Inch foot with Guide, SD Stitch In The Ditch foot, and STD Single Hole foot to use with the Single Hole needle plate. These feet are compatible with all Janome Acufeed Flex model machines: MC 15000 Quiltmaker and previous versions, Continental M7, MC 9450, MC 9400, MC 8900, MC 8200, MC 12000, MC 6700P, Skyline S9, Skyline S7, Skyline S6 – gosh, there’s sew many, I hope I haven’t forgotten any! lol!

Please see your Janome Dealer for more information and to purchase these very useful feet if they did not come with your machine. Definitely worth having them all! Check your standard accessory list in your machine instruction manual to see which of these feet you may already have! They’re great items to add to the birthday or Christmas wish lists, too! (hint, hint!)

For those who are perhaps in the market for a new machine you might want to have a look at the  Horizon Memory Craft 9450QCP, I recorded a video recently for our virtual Quilt Canada booth, which is available on the Janome HQ You Tube channel, and by clicking the link HERE. Apart from being a fabulous machine with some exciting features, it has the equally fabulous Janome AcuFeed Flex Professional Grade HP 2 foot! Janome has done it again!

Everyone has been loving the HP (high performance) needle plate and foot on their Horizon MC 9400QCP, MC9450, MC 6700P, updated MC 15000 and MC 15000 Quiltmaker, and Continental M7 but now Janome has further “amped” it up with AcuFeed! By the way, for those of you with an INDIGO Skyline S9 or UPDATED original S9, you TOO can join in the fun as the HP Needle Plate, HP Foot and Professional Grade HP2 Acufeed Flex Foot are available in separate blister packs from your Janome Dealer!

The HP Foot or HP2 Foot and corresponding needle plate is a great combo for sewing around curves and to achieve that perfect scant quarter of an inch seam allowance when piecing quilt blocks, or for topstitching on garments. You can see the above photo that the HP 2 Foot has markings spaced one quarter of an inch apart, (as does the regular HP Foot) so you know just where to stop sewing and pivot your fabric. This is perfect for those once-dreaded “Y” or inset seams. Fear no more – Janome has you covered!

Our friends at SEW4Home.wrote an excellent article on the HP2 Foot and Needle Plate, which you’ll definitely want to check out, and for even more review, check out this Janome Canada Instagram Live presentation HERE. (please note that Instagram does not allow filming in landscape/ horizontal mode, so when viewed on another platform like You Tube, the screen is tall and skinny)

The Horizon MC 9450QCP and Continental M7 has the HP2 foot included, but it is now available in a blister pack for those machines which are BOTH Acufeed and HP needle plate compatible: MC 15000 Quiltmaker and updated previous versions, MC 9400, MC 6700P and Skyline S9.

Happy Sewing!!

Thank you sew much! The AcuFeed Flex feet are only compatible with machines with the AcuFeed feeding system; MC15000, MC6700P, Continental M7, MC8900, MC8200, MC9400, MC9450, Skyline S6, Skyline S7, Skyline S9 – I hope I haven’t missed any, lol!!! Your Skyline S3 is not equipped with AcuFeed, so you’d use an Even Feed Foot instead. Happy Sewing!
