I live in Chilliwack, BC and while my family is safe and dry, a lot of people very close to me are losing their homes or are stranded in between mudslides. I thought a ray of sunshine would be appropriate as a sign of encouragement and hope for better days ahead.
I made this wall hanging a while back at a retreat and quilted it on my Janome Quilt Maker Pro 18 longarm quilting machine. I tried a pattern I hadn’t used before, as there are so many built-in designs from which to choose.
When I hung it on the door, I thought it looked pretty, but when the sun started streaming through the window today and showed off the dimension of the quilting, I thought WOW, that looks awesome! The sunshine brings in beautiful things.

Hello Anne: Your quilt is absolutely stunning with the sunlight making it glow I am a Janome gal, love embroidery and free motion quilting.
I also live in Chilliwack, and holding my breath that the flooding and landslides will be over soonest, then begins the massive cleanup and rebuilding. There is an enormous job ahead.
