Celine is back LIVE every Tuesday at 3pm EST on the Janome Sewing Machines Facebook page for an entire month of sewing fun and education to help you get the most from your Janome machine!
Today, Celine will show you how fun and it easy it is to transform a plain, ready made garment into festive Holiday wear using the Janome Free Motion Couching Foot Set, available for High Shank machines only. To determine if your sewing machine is High Shank or Low Shank, lower the presser foot and measure up to the small screw which attaches the foot holder to the machine. If it’s approximately 1/2″ its Low Shank. If it’s approximately 1″ to 1 1/4″ it’s High Shank.

Celine will be demonstrating on the fabulous Janome Continental M7, but any High Shank machine, like the MC6700P, Janome MC6650, Janome Skyline S7, Janome Skyline S6 will be able to use this specialty presser foot.
Check out our handy bilingual Janome Accessories Guide or click on the Accessories Tab on Janome.CA. to find the presser feet and accessories compatible with your machine. Click the Products tab, then scroll down to find “View all Accessories“. Click there to access the Search Box or to scroll through the pages to find the accessories you’d like. Click on the picture/description to find the Part Number and machine compatibility. And, as always, check with your fabulous Janome Dealer!

Don’t worry if you can’t make the LIVE. All of the presentations will be saved under the Videos tab of the Janome Sewing Machines Facebook page. Use the Search Box to find all the videos with Celine Ross.
Don’t have a Facebook account, don’t worry, they will be uploaded to the Janome HQ You Tube channel under the Facebook Live playlist to enjoy whenever you wish!

I have just got my 6700p and I am not sure what plate to use for quilting and foot

HI Irene, congratulations on your fabulous new machines! The 6700P is one of my favourites! If you’re piecing, many quilters prefer to use the Straight Stitch needle plate with the 1/4″ O foot, but others prefer to use the HP Needle Plate with the HP foot. The choice is yours. When actually quilting through all layers; for straight line quilting use the AcuFeed Flex foot holder with AD foot or use the PD-H Darning Foot or the Convertible Free Motion Quilting foot holder with any of the 3 free motion quilting feet included. You’ve got lots of options, so try them all to see which you like best for the specific application. Happy Sewing!
