It may be hard to believe, but today we welcome a brand new year, 2022!!
For those of us who sew/quilt/ embroider/create, it’s another year of fun doing what we love to do. It’s another year to get caught up on all those UFOs – or create some more, lol!; another year to refine our skills and perhaps delve into a new creative realm for even more creative expression and fun! As usual, Janome Canada will be with you every step of the way. We have lots of exciting things in store for you this year, but, before we look ahead, it’s fun to look back to see what 2021 brought us, especially for those of you who’re just getting onboard, or may be new to the Janome Life blog.
We’ve continued to post new blogs no less than 5 days a week (sometimes 6 or even 7 days a week) on all aspects of Janome right here on the Janome Life blog. Popular segments include the Saturday Sewing blogs, which feature little projects of inspiration which often don’t take longer than a day, or a weekend to complete. Type Saturday Sewing in the SEARCH box to find all the related posts.
Another popular and exciting segment on Janome Life which debuted late last year is Janome Jump Start; a new monthly series aimed specifically to the beginner and those new to the Janome brand. Our colleague from Janome America, JP Alfano, National Accounts Product Specialist, is heading up this series, so watch the video below to “meet” JP.
Over on the Janome HQ Instagram Page, we’ve continued the journey through the Janome lineup of products on Janome’s Magical Machine Mystery Tour, presented LIVE every Wednesday at 1pm Eastern.
From entry level to Top of the Line machines; Janome partner products like Daylight Lamps and Arrow Sewing Furniture, we show you everything your Janome Canada dealer has to offer to help make your sewing experience easier and more enjoyable. Don’t worry if you don’t have an Instagram account, all the Janome HQ Instagram LIVE presentations are loaded as “videos” on the Janome HQ You Tube channel. Please note, when viewed on another platform, like You Tube, the video is tall and skinny and does not fill the screen as Instagram does not allow for landscape orientation. It’s just another way to try to share more of the Janome Love!
Beginning last summer, our fabulous longtime Janome Canada educator extraordinaire, Celine Ross, has been providing LOTS of education and fun projects through weekly Facebook LIVE presentations every Tuesday at 3pm Eastern on the Janome Sewing Machines Facebook Page. Demonstrations include presser feet and attachments for a variety of Janome machines, as well as sewing techniques including Bobbin Work and Fagoting. The presentations are stored in the Videos tab on the Janome Sewing Machines Facebook Page so you may watch whenever convenient for you. Use “Celine Ross” in the SEARCH box to find all of Celine’s presentations.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a Facebook account, Celine’s presentations have been uploaded to the Facebook Live playlist on the Janome HQ You Tube channel. Since Facebook allows for landscape orientation, these videos are full screen, lol!
Several NEW Playlists were added to the Janome HQ You Tube channel, including NEW at Janome Canada, which features videos of exciting new machines added to the Janome line. The first in this series is the debut of the fabulous Janome CoverPro 3000 Professional; Janome’s new Top of the Line CoverPro machine which stitches a Cover Hem stitch AND Top Cover Stitch all in ONE step! Many exciting, new features debuted with this machine, so be sure to watch the video and check with one of our Janome Canada dealers to arrange a test drive.

Our friends at Sew4Home have been in over-drive providing our Janome lovers some fun, exclusive projects, and the very popular and super-informative Mini Sewing Tips. We’ve received lots of great feedback about these segments so I’m thrilled to announce that Sew4Home will continue to share with us throughout 2022, as well! Use the SEARCH box on Janome Life to find all the previous Mini Sewing Tips, or, check out the INSPIRE tab – Sew4Home – on Janome.CA.
The Sew4Home Project Pairings are also another popular, informative segment posted every quarter on Janome Life. These posts focus on Janome machine features and presser feet which makes the chosen project it’s paired with quicker and easier to make. From Entry Level/ Beginner-friendly machines to our sophisticated Top of the Line machines, there’s something for everyone in these posts. Projects include convenient shopping totes and little zipper pouches to help keep you organized. They make great gifts, too!
Our Janome Canada dealers have all the details and JEF embroidery files from the Sew4Home embroidery design collections created exclusively for our Janome Canada customers. Designs and project instructions include the fun and festive Vintage Christmas Ornaments collection and Faceted Faces, perfect for your furry friends. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, online classes have been a new platform for us at Janome Canada, Earlier this year we offered a variety of online classes through our Janome Canada dealers and a separate set of classes offered directly from the Janome Sewing and Learning Centre. The classes through the JSLC were presented LIVE, but were also recorded, so you’re able to learn and enjoy whenever convenient for you. Click on the link above for details of the classes available. In addition to the class recording, support materials, homework, and a Resources for Learning document with links to further videos and exercises for even more learning is often included.
