A Little “Hare” In Your Machine

At a sewing event, my friend asked if I would like to create a Luna Lapin project with her. I had no idea what it was about, but I said “yes” anyway. We both have grand-daughters, so we made rabbits with dresses to give to them for Easter.

She still needs a nose, but I thought she was cute!

I got a “hare” caught in my machine! lol!

When sewing projects that require precision, I use the Janome Professional Grade AcuFeed Flex HP 2 foot with the HP (High Performance) Needle Plate. This foot gives a combination of a Walking/ Even Feed/ Dual Feed foot with a smaller foot to pivot and make small specific seams in tight areas.

Janome also has the Single/Narrow AcuFeed Flex foot holder with VD foot attached, pictured below, with the Professional Grade AcuFeed Flex HP2 beneath it. The HP2 foot is marked so you can’t mix it up, lol! For machines like Janome Skyline 6 and Skyline S7 which have AcuFeed, but are not HP compatible, the Single/Narrow AcuFeed Flex foot holder is a great option to use for those tight spaces AND, there is the optional AcuFeed Flex Zipper foot (ED) available to work with it, as well, to get your stitching even closer.

The Janome AcuFeed Flex foot holders attach to your machine like the Even Feed foot; held in place by the screw of the presser foot bar, but the little hook at the back of the foot holders clips into the upper feeding mechanism of the machine, so it integrates with the machine to keep layers feeding consistently.
