Quilt Canada Classroom Machines

It is hard to believe that Quilt Canada is over. All the work before and then in a blink of an eye, it was done. Everyone has packed up and returned to their homes all across Canada.

One of the jobs I had at Quilt Canada was to assist students and the instructors in the 6 Janome sponsored classrooms. We had some amazing instructors who taught many creative, new techniques. It was fun to pop into the classrooms to see the student’s progress and their finished projects.

There were different needs for different classrooms, based on the techniques used in the class, so we used different machines in each.

One model was the fabulous, Janome MC9450QCP. As quilters, we understand the need for good lighting, so in addition to the LED lighting in the 11″ throat space and around the needle, the Janome MC9450QCP has a special retractable light over the needle area to zero in just where you need it.

The 11″ throat space provides ample quilting space to move the project around, and there’s a large extension table included, as well. All sewists love convenient features like Auto-Presser Foot Lift, Auto-Pivot, Thread Cutter, 91 needle positions, and of course, the dual feeding power of AcuFeed Flex. There’s a variety of presser feet which fit the Dual/Twin AcuFeed Flex Foot Holder, so contact your Janome Dealer for details.

Another classroom had the Janome MC8200QCP-SE. It too, has many features quilters love; 11″ throat space, push button controls, 91 needle positions, AcuFeed Flex dual feed system; the list goes on and on.

The special edition Janome 3160QOV-C appeared in TWO locations at Quilt Canada and is one of my favourite machines. In the classroom, it was chosen for its versatile features and accessories, including an extension table and Quilting Attachment Kit.

Janome Quilting Attachment Kit offers lots of versatility, especially for piecing and quilting.

The other location we used the machine was in the Quilts of Valour booth. We had 2 machines set-up so visitors could piece together blocks for a quilt which will be gifted to a Canadian Veteran. A portion of the sale of the machine goes to Quilts of Valour, which is a cause close to my heart. My Dad was a 27- year decorated veteran with the Royal Canadian Navy.

The other machine used in the classrooms was the Elna Expressive 680+ I think everyone knows by now that Janome also distributes the Elna brand and several of our Janome Canada dealers carry both Elna and Janome.

We all love this cute and useful storage compartment for commonly used presser feet.

Quilt Canada is a great time to test drive and purchase a sewing machine as there are always terrific deals! All 60 of the classroom machines were up for sale and several people went home with fabulous machines any sewist and quilter would love!

Hi Linda! Quilt Canada ended two weeks ago, so you’d have to check with individual Janome Dealers about pricing. Happy Sewing!
