These adorable Vintage Notion Totes are an homage to the sewing baskets our mothers or grandmothers may have had, but they’re covered in new, fresh prints to match whatever your style and décor.
Each Vintage Notion Tote includes 14 Mini-King spools of luscious Hilos Iris thread in a rainbow array of colours. I often say thread is just like candy, but even better that these delicious treats have no calories, lol!
Traditionally, most sewists would use 100% cotton for quilting and 100% polyester for embroidery, but these premium threads can be used for whatever task you wish. I often use the 100% polyester Ultra Brite thread to show off decorative stitches and buttonholes. The 100% cotton “quilting” thread gives a new, more subtle textural effect to embroidery. It’s fun to try new threads for new techniques, new applications. It’s ok to experiment to see what works best for you!
