Yes, we have featured this accessory before. ( actually twice) …..way back when it was brand new, but I do believe it is time for a review and reminder. This accessory is available as an optional accessory but it does come standard with some of our Janome machine models. Please speak to your local Janome dealer for more information. For example, the Janome MC15000 comes standard with this foot so you would not need to purchase it……you might just need a reason to use it! Here is the why & how.

Precise placement is always a concern for buttonholes, and the uneven surfaces created by these fabrics poses a unique trial for any sewing machine.

It is with these types of jobs in mind that Janome offers the Buttonhole Stabilizer Plate. This plate supports and holds fabric for extra stability when sewing buttonholes and bartacks on uneven thicknesses of hard-to-feed fabrics such as wool or knits. Sewists who make buttonholes in jeans, wool, fleece, and stretch fabrics will love this new attachment for their buttonhole foot.

The Buttonhole Stabilizer Plate is compatible with all Janome sewing machines that use an Automatic Buttonhole Foot R. These feet are hollow on the underside. To use the stabilizer plate, you just slide the automatic buttonhole foot into the plate holder and make some minor adjustments to the plate. Fabric is placed between the buttonhole foot and the plate for extra stability and smoother feeding. The plate also contains markings to help align the edge of the fabric and to ensure correct placement.
