A new year is the perfect time for new beginnings, and a perfect time to announce a NEW monthly series which will debut next month on Janome Life!
Join our Janome Canada Artisan, and quilter-extraordinaire, Melissa Marginet, Thursday, February 10th, 2022 as she kicks off her Janome Quilt-Along series right here on the Janome Life blog! Each month Melissa will share with you instructions and tips for piecing and later for quilting using different techniques such as Ruler Quilting and using an Even Feed or AcuFeed Flex Foot. See the same block quilted 3 different ways, so this is the perfect time to learn a new technique, and to solve that age-ole question, “How should I quilt that?”
In addition to written instructions, Melissa will post links to videos, so you may watch her demonstrate some techniques and products which help make the process easier, like the Janome Sew Comfortable acrylic rulers.
More details will be shared next month, Thursday, February 10th, 2022, when Melissa will share with you the fabric requirements and the schedule of what steps will be covered each month so you may follow along for a whole year of quilting instruction and FUN!

hello I have a Janome 11000 SE, is it still possible to do the quilt along or must I have a newer machine

HI Katy! Any machine will do! It doesn’t even have to be a Janome, but we certainly hope it is, lol! The machine Melissa demos might have different functions or different presser feet, like the AcuFeed Flex Foot, but those with other machines which don’t have AcuFeed can use the similar Even Feed Foot, for example. You can always adapt techniques with what you have available. Happy Sewing!

You’ll receive notification that you’ve subscribed to Janome Life and will receive notifications each time a post is published. This isn’t necessary to view the Quilt-Along posts, it just makes it more convenient to be sure you have all the posts. Happy Sewing!
